For example if your primary is a sniper rifle there no reason to use reflex Melee or assault rifles and waste those points when you can switch to a pistol or revolver that uses the same tree as sniper rifles. Then take those saved points and get more cyberware in tech or survivability in body.
"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
Bruce Lee
The way they changed things in 2.0 though give you alot of freedom to pick and choose based on the situation.
The only tree I would argue is pretty mandatory for most builds is TECH.
The middle TECH tree increasing your Cyberware Capacity is pretty universally useful no matter what.
At least 15 Body for Adrenaline Rush (survivability)
At least 15 Reflexes for Air Dash (mobilty)
15 - 20 Tech for medicine recharge and Edgerunner (cyberware limit)
Leftover attribute points whatever you want
Also Biomonitor cyberware is highly recommend
