Worth starting a new playthrough?
Title. I never finished the game but got about 40 hours in, was able to do the last mission but wanted to finish up the side content first. Should i just restart with the new update?

Did you try playing a new character? I found it fun to play as Nomad or City Kid. More then Corpo. I also used the looks of Naruto and other anime characters.

Did you make your self look like Veigetta?

That is up to you.

If you haven't played the game in a while may be worth it starting over to refresh your memory about the plot and the characters, of course this means that you'll have to replay content that you had already played it before, some people may not wanna do that because they don't find that content worth replaying - or don't think they have the time to replay it - while others find it worth replaying and do have the time to replay it.

It's completely up to you. I hadn't played the game since 1.6 came out, so for me it was no brainer to restart the playthrough, i loved the game, and was exicted to play it again but this time with the new changes to the gameplay, i can say for my own personal experience that starting a new playthrough was worth it, but that's me. It is completely up to you if you wanna do that. The changes they made with 2.0 do spice up the gameplay quite bit, however at its core it is still the same game as it used to be, so it's up to you to decide if you wanna go through all of that again or just jump straight into the expansion content.

You don't need to unless you want to try other life paths. A lot of people like Nomad. At least the start is by far the best IMO. They has completely changed the attributes and skill trees. You get it refunded for free so You can try out different playstyles if you want. As well as you get to reset your attributes once after that as well. So you can yet again try a different style. As well as there is an option to skip the begining now and get straight to phantom liberty. At least for people who beat the game before. Not sure if it allows you to skip if you didn't. :cozywowscap:

I think restarting is an absolute yes
I recommend going directly into Phantom Liberty first. Play through Phantom Liberty. Complete that expansion. Then start over from the very beginning of Cyberpunk (base game).

I have two save files.
One after V2 but before PL and another after Phantom Liberty.
Since with most who have a completed file will be high/max powered there's no playing and experiencing any growth.
Enemies scale to your level.
Cyberwear has Tiers instead of Rarity making them viable from the lowest levels to max.
Comparing the two, there is a big difference.
If you have both like I do, I'd go through PL and then go back and learn how a new play feels after V2.

Depend. I was already on my 2nd playthrough and at the final mission so I didn't feel like re-doing everything again but if you have not play this in a while then sure.

depends if you want to play fresh on a new life path, or just want to start over fresh from start since many skill systems (and weapons) have changed.

Definitely restart. I'd played through the game previously but didn't feel compelled to do most of the side content. This time the game is SO much fun and runs so well (getting 70-150fps on ultra, DLSS Quality, 1440p and this is on a 3060Ti, RTX off) - I can't get enough of it and am planning another playthrough once I am finished this one, to take different paths/choices.

Go for it! Absolutely recommend starting a brand new character, or you could dive in to PL from the main menu if you prefer.

Actually no, if you finish PL you lock yourself out of a lot of content in the main game. Complete all but the final mission of PL, sure.
