Though you need to equip appropriate cybernetics. Also ping quickhack and recon grenades shorten the homing time for smart guns too.
I'll test this at some point but now that you said it, it does make sense.
I have seen stray bullets on mostly Tyger Claw enemies.
Also OP, as someone else had said previously, make sure you have the correct hand implant from a Ripper Doc for Smart Weapons.
In that case I'm going to blindly guess that the Cyberware Malfunction Quickhack will counter their counter.
2. You have to have the enemy in the smart weapon window range for a certain amount of time before it locks on to the enemy
1. I have the legendary smartlink in the hand slot;
2. I aim 100% on the enemy until the targets are captured (until the red diamond decreases on the enemy).
3. I didn’t upgrade the smart weapons branch because... I didn’t see any skills there that significantly improve accuracy, is it really possible that without this, a smart weapon is 90% useless?
There used to be an initial tiger claw version of the smartlink which is given to you after doing a gig (the tattoo). Then you could buy non-tigerclaw versions that would allow you to target anyone including tigerclaws.
I have the T4 version right now but i'm not sure if it's limited or not.
Smart weapons need to be solely a crowd control option (shooting mutliple targets at the same time.)
The regular version can go to T5 if you want. I started with the T1 version before the Heist, never bothered installing the tattoo version, and am now using a T5 version (upgraded from a lower version, because I haven't quite hit level 40 yet).
They exist. Specifcally, one gives +2% accuracy per max RAM, which... can be a lot, like I've currently got ~29 or so max RAM w/ and not all the relevant cyberware is T5, and it's also with a -4 penalty factored in because one of my cyberware implants does that in exchange for a boosted critical hit chance with quickhacks. So, in this case, +58% accuracy for a perk that requires Int 9 and three points to reach/have it (acquisition specialist + precision subroutines).
At the moment I'm mostly fighting Barghests and Voodoo Boys, so I haven't tested against Tyger Claws for a while and I think there's... like, one fight in the game where you go against Kang Tao?
