-There are new cars
-As far as weaponized vehicle go, I only get shoot at by the the gangs in dogtown.
-The most overwhelmingly good thing is the damage player can dealt is reduced to oblivion compare to previous version. There are still many builds that would to good damage, just not as broken is before.
However I don't like the new simplified crafting system and the unlimited use of consumable, feels less like an RPG this way.
Sounds like what they did in Witcher 3 with alchemy, where just meditating would magically regenerate pots. Didn't like it there either.
All the nomad vehicles I've seen are weaponized. Not sure about them using car guns in the story.
The primary changes are the skills and cyberwear. Skills feel a lot more impactful and there aren't many you can dump as they are all useful. If you squeeze in as many perk points as possible (80) you can still make absolutely broken builds coupled with cyberwear. Probably the coolest change, imo. They also made blunt way more interesting, all playstyles are viable now.
Cyberwear is now way different, in a good way. They nerfed it by removing mods and adding limits to how much you can install along with random bonuses, but with enough grinding or just playing the game normally you can install a ton of incredibly powerful stuff. I've seen people crying about being underpowered with new changes, but if you know what you are doing you will be anything but underpowered.
I also found myself liking enemy levelscaling despite not really being into it most of the time.
Few things I don't like, you can freely remove cyberwear, which doesn't make make much sense but I guess works from a gameplay perspective, and the cyber won't show on your body which is disappointing. There aren't any repeatable bosses outside of Maxtac as far as I've seen. No new bikes. Most iconics have no mod slots, which is for balance, but considering a lot of weapons were changed completely or nerfed, I would have liked at least one mod slot per or something.
Edit: Oh and like mentioned, crafting is dumbed down so now anyone and everyone can craft whatever at higher levels. I don't mind it so much that they got rid of tech requirements, but crafting itself isn't very interesting.
The hardest difficulty also feels nicer. It's easier to get killed even when you have an amazing build. It's similar to the pre-2.0 when you weren't using cyber. Cyber is now basically mandatory tho.
Lot of the best changes are in the expansion tbqh. Can see some clear learning and a lot of the changes/additions make far more sense in areas designed around them being there. Also loving the integration across between the expansion and base game, but I'm completionist with this game, and looking forward to trying different little choices to see what pops out.
For 2.0 itself, I've been running a reflex/tech build on very hard. If I were to do it again then I'd either lean more heavily on tech faster plus stealth, or dive deeper into body. It's not a bad build per se but very hard is a definite jump up in difficulty for a decent sized chunk of the game and I think it needs a tighter build than my shambles.
re vehicles. I've got the Hellhound - is that 2.0 or PL? Not sure. It's a brick. Maybe break 100 downhill with a strong wind behind it. On the plus side, missiles and machine guns. And, yes, there are vehicles the Raffen can use which have mounted weapons (seen Geckos with MGs for headlights, that sort of stuff).
If someone likes something, you don't usuallusee them making a new post about it. Instead you'll more likely see posts from people that do NOT like something, and then in the replies you'll get both, people that agree and people that disagree.
You'll never get a unanimous opinion.
In the same video i found out about the Terrier, i saw a supposed "new" bike, but all it really looked like was an Arch with a different paintjob. Id be happy with just some improved handling.
You used to have to go into technical ability just to be able to upgrade some iconics, like the gun we get from the gunstore guy right at start, and without tech ability it would remain a common subpar weapon.
So maybe glass half full sorta thing.
The Terrier will be a change of pace, as it really does look like something Tawny Kitaen or Samantha Fox would dance on top of. Must own it when i get to it.
You'll love the Hellhound then. More forged than built. My preference is a custom Quadra (the tribute to Ken Block) at the moment, twitchy but it moves and shoots.
Think the Terrier unlocks by doing El Capitan's missions and I've not done enough yet. Mr.Hands has been taking up a lot of my time. (Sam Fox? Crikey, throw in Linda Lusardi and that'll date us both - like old fossils. :D)
