I'd like some extreme retro stuff in a custom radio station. Sure. I could just start up a player app separately, but I'd like to have it coming from an in-game source instead. That's the only "soundtrack" change I'd make.
In fact, I've been using YouTube to leave soundtracks playing in the background like Blade Runner, Drive, Daftpunk and Synthpop in general because 95% of all radio stations in my opinion are very bad. Bands like Volkor X should be in this game, but instead we have only crap stuff
In all seriousness I had a friend say something very similar. He was hoping for a synth sound which I get. But I also told him "What? did you expect all of human culture to boil its self down to one musical genre in the 2070s?"
I think the music away from the radio station is generally superb. They got a good cellist in and she knocked it out of the park. The radio stations... I have mixed feelings about but variety is fine.
Opinions are opinions I guess, but just off the top of my head, here's a track on the radio that I think is really good. If you hate everything the soundtrack does for whatever reason, guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. But also to be fair, you're roleplaying how I feel every time I turn on my real life radio in my real life car lol.
