How much base game content can I play before starting Phantom Liberty?

Hi, I've started a new game. Enjoying it a lot. Specially the new additions they've added. Swear they added new dialogue too; I haven't finished the base game since I pre-ordered this game on launch. I'd say 3 years EA was maybe worth it, anyway ---

I already reached pacifica and finished the VDB intro. Spoke to AI god lady and now got call from Birdysongchick --- How much base game content can I keep playing till i have to eventually get into PL?

I keep wondering about some new lines too, but could be my memory.

There's no forcing you into the expansion - it's a branch off the main story. You can pick it up when you want to once you've got it. And you can come and go from the expansion area as you please after a certain point in the expansion quest chain.

Reviewers says its better to start PL before endgame.

i advise you to do PL ASAP then finish the content of the main game when you have finish PL , you get a lot of interesting perks and weapons in PL that gives you different option for the rest of the main game

Ikr, It seems some dialogue options as well have different responses too. And yeah its been so long that maybe we've just forgotten they said those lines but def added new ones for sure.

Does PL have its own side mission inside the new area as well? Can I still do side missions out side the DLC content? I guess just avoid main story content for now right?

I really want the samurai jacket tho -- can I progress past that so I can get it? I know its one of the main branch story missions from rouge

yes you can freely go do side mission outside , PL does have his on side mission too,

you can do all the main content before the dlc , it's just sad to miss the perks and weapons from it ^^ but you can do it how ever you want , the game doesn't block you much after unlocking it

I don't want to spoil but PL brings some stuff that really gives possiblities gameplay wise that the game didn't have before , but you have to progress/complete the dlc to get them
