I agree. But that said, I never even attempted driving in first person until this release. Driving around the city and not crashing into everything is actually doable and fun now.

That is just plain wrong answer. The option there is only for the 3rd person cam, not first.
just drive a truck or something, I'm guessing you drive a truck in person or else you would be used to being so low to the ground.

I may have missed an option that came and went between patches, but I don't remember there ever being an option for camera height for *first person* driving, only third? Is it possible you used a mod in the past (don't know if any existed that did this)?

Jokes on you, European trucks have very good frontal visibility since they have no frontal hood and the windshield is close and literally vertical instead of being tilted. Basically, if not for being high from the ground, the visibility is better than in normal cars. So your analogy is not just bad by comparing cars to trucks, but horrible, since it compares SOME trucks for which is true and ignores the other trucks where the comparison highlights the game issue to even larger extent.

The camera has never been in the right place for V, I think it's on their chin.

You did by inference, and I'm guessing you are short as it's uncommon for any car's seat to be so low as to struggle to see over the hood unless you are sub 160cm (or roughly 5'8'' in normie units)
you shouldn't assume what other people mean when they say something. I'm 6'1 while barefoot and drive a Pontiac Gran Prix, I have no issues seeing over my hood :\. Not sure why I'm under attack here for trying to help OP, even if it was to treat a symptom instead of the main problem.
