This is not true. You still get achievements even if you skip the launcher.

True but they won't show on steam.

Thanks for the tip about skipping launcher

Just to nitpick: There is no ok button. Simply writing something will still save it, though

Yeah for achievements to not show in the Steam pop-ups, you have to disable the Steam overlay. You still get them, of course.

I'm trying to do it for Fallout 3 on Steam Deck, but it's not working. I'm trying in exactly what you have " --launcher-skip" Am I doing something wrong?

Been a while since I played Fallout 3 (and much was on the physical boxed version), but that's a Bethesda game and probably use other methods to skip the launcher, if it's possible.

I don't remember skipping launcher in later Bethesda games either, but you might ask on the Fallout 3 forum, or even Skyrim, Fallout 4 or Starfield ones.

It's not the same format across the board. BG3, for instance, uses "--skip-launcher"

What are the benefits of skipping Red launcher? Is it just to skip that part of the running process and go direct to game? Or does it also boost performance? Genuinely curious.

That's what I've been doing since day one. Put a shortcut on desktop. Simple

The launcher takes an age to load and then when it does load it puts itself in front of everything, including the mouse cursor, making it un-clickable lol.

IDK about anyone else, but this is a good enough reason for me to want to skip it.
