SPOILERS: Why PL new ending is terrible

Its a prime example of picking a theme over common sense and character development. The biggest loser in this ending is Panam, my supposed "Ride of Die." Put yourself in her shoes.

Lets say you had a friend or loved one who has a serious medical condition that killing them. Then who out of the blue your friend disappeared. You dont know if they been kidnapped, dead, whatever. Then you get contacted by that friend saying that they undergone an experimental surgery that saved thier life but put them in coma for 2 years. Would a normal person with a functioning brain get mad at that person or just be extremely happy that they still alive?

Not only will I never pick this ending ever again, Im never going to romance Panam ever again. At least Judy picked up the phone and had a conversation with you. I cannot ever imagine completely cutting my wife off if this happened to her. It just blows my mind how terrible this is.

Wanna know how it really should have played out just watch Cast Away with Tom Hanks. Get stranded on an island for years, no fault of his own, and comes back. Do people move on Yes. Do they get mad at him, of course not.

Its not a "Cyberpunk is suppose to dark and depressing." This is bad writing and character assassination.

panam has gotten angry at romanced V for choosing to accept death over getting all his friends killed since the original release, it's made clear in her characterisation that she doesn't handle being 'abandoned' well and percieves it as a betrayal regardless of the context- something she holds a grudge over

Regardless...Panam is not a real person. Nobody would act like that if they truely cared about you. They care more about themselves and thier feelings than you. Youre the who had 2 years take away and somehow they make its about them.

Panam is the worst. I would rather Panam not be able to be conatcted at all than the epilogue explanation Thanks CDPR.

Bad writing isn't new to Cyberpunk 2077. Phantom Liberty is just more of the bad writing we saw in the main game.

I mean the whole you have to slot this in your head or it will be ruined, followed by forty plus hours, of, let's do some side quests while I'm dying.

With Phantom Liberty, the B movie writing. starts immediately. Some random " Mary Sue", who was found as one of the best hackers at 13, who is also a woman, because women make the best Netrunners. because it's the current year, offers to cure you with no other details and of course you run off to see her .......

Then the plane lands on top of you because of course it does. don't you like explosions and the screen shaking?

Time to get beat up by another Mary Sue who is tough as nails while still wearing high heels.

Maybe it gets better but I had to stop playing a couple hours into the new DLC because all my suspension of belief had already been used up and I wanted to play a game I could actually immerse myself into.

Well it's a good thing V got game because it won't be hard to find someone else. Not only that, but it's not like V can't go to the Aldecado camp anymore. Panam would get over it eventually.

That's how friendship works. So there's nothing inexplicable about that ending. You think in reality any of your friends would give a shiТ about you if you disappeared for two years? They'd forget about you. Nobody gives a f8ck about you.

So after an ending like this, I'm only gonna be okay with Vic and Misty. And maybe Rogue. They're the most sane of Vi's "friends."

Ugh....yes I would care and I hope they would to. Thats exaxtly how frienship works. 2 years... I would be happy to talk to friends I had in junior high. People youre referring to arent real friends

Wym? Tis the only ending where V can have a good life. Sure, V will rebuild his life, but uhm, I dont think thats a 'negative' ending in the universe?

Its been '2' years in the ending. The only thing I could say that the people who cured you should of been aware of your relations, but that was never made. In the end, V if you took that part was always thinking about himself. Jonny explains you very well in the air vehicle flight.

What did you expect? A positive ending where you find the cure?

The choice is clear:

You either die, or survive. Anything adjacant for that doesnt matter in cyberpunkl universe. and it aint set in stone either. Maybe V needs a year or two to recover? We dont know that. We only know a slight picture of what happenent in 2079.

If your V didnt care to much about the cure, why pick the cure option(s)?

The only 'negative' one when it comes to curing is the base game side with hanako and get engrammed like Silverhand, cause thats not the original V, just like Jonny is not the original Jonny.

p.s You barely knew Panaan anyway. In CP doing a girl is quite easy.... as depected in thhe whole city.
