"Rebel Rebel" mission...

So, I am still on my first playthrough, and never played this mission before. I got to it after the update, and I am having a very bizarre and annoying problem. I absolutely CANNOT escape from the police chase. Literally, I drive off into the Badlands and when I timed one of my tries, I was driving madly for almost FOUR MINUTES, and police literally kept spawning EVERYWHERE and chasing me, crashing into me, and the game even told me I was driving off the map even when I wasn't, and reset me back a little bit, and the police never killed me, but I CANNOT GET AWAY and I cannot finish this mission. Like, how are there even this many police responding to a car explosion when so many other crazy things happen in this city LMAO? When I looked it up, every guide was saying that the AI was dumb and wouldn't even chase you more than a little bit.
So, am I doing something wrong, or is this mission bugged out now? Cause I am about to just go to an earlier save and skip this altogether, just like I had to do with the "Violence" side mission that just...did not let me enter the club (the doors simply did not open even though it told me I was in the area).

Edit: FINALLY got it, but I had to drive into the city, instead, and still took about 90 seconds to two minutes to shake them, but was much easier than driving into the Badlands lol.

If you drive in the badlands....just avoid roads and then hide behind a dune and the police will usually lose you after a minute or 2 (just check the minimap and if the circle gets close....move slowly along with it) =p

Thank you, I appreciate you! I figured out later it was probably because I was just fundamentally misunderstanding HOW I was supposed to get away from them. I thought I could just keep driving and they'd give up LMAO, I will 100% admit to not being the sharpest crayon in the box sometimes.

Well for future reference, drive as fast as you can until you're out of the police circle....then slow down and just stay away, take small roads in the city....or jump out and crouch down behind dumpsters if you're boxed in =p
