Unable to replace weapon mods

I know you cant remove the internal weapon mods but i swore you could replace them previously. Am I wrong? Im finding it difficult to find any weapon with an empty weapon slot to use this legendary mod i got

You cannot remove them but you can replace them with a new mod and the old one just gets destroyed.

See thats not working for me it just tells me the slot is already taken when i try to replace it

Not anymore. Scopes and muzzles can be replaced, they are also not destroyed upron replacement, mods however can not be replaced or upgraded. Once its in its in

only tier 5 weapon mods can be removed without being destroyed now
