The main reason not to mod this game in particular, is that after every patch most of the mods will stop working until the author updates the mod. Another reason is that there really aren't, in my opinion too many good mods for this game. I installed the metro system, which is kind of nice, but not earth shattering. I would recommend getting VORTEX, an app that you can use to download an apply mods (and remove mods) quite easily.

If you have something specific you want to mod then do it otherwise leave it alone.

also when i launch the game how do i know if the mods are running like i turned the red mod switch on with the game launcher but is there a settings panel or menu ? i tried downloading the mod cyber engine tweaks but now that i think about it it might not be a red file or w/e like the first video i watched an downloaded the modd successfully was a red mod idk shiddds dumb to be this complicated why cant it just be a steam workshop modd thought cyberpunk was popular enough to be accepted in steams community lol

iv heavily modded games thru the work shop like dayz or Conan exiles runnin 100+ modds at a time on servers Conan was a bit tricky cause u gotta put the mods in the same order as the server you join it don't sort them for you an then stuff will be over laid or not load in at all an crash your game lol

I have 200+ mods, but played through the story a few times before using them. The best advice I can give you is to:
1. Set Steam NOT to auto Update - and play direct from the Game .exe or run Steam in offline mode when a patch drops - saves a Lot of heartache - there are still people on the Nexus forums trying to get their game to work after 1.62 because they just downloaded the patch straight off the bat. Once the mod authors have a chance to update their mods - you can then download the patch at your leisure.
2. For this game only - I do not use a Mod manger, manual installation all the way - too many instances of mod managers messing with file paths when installing / uninstalling mods
3. I don't use REDmod personally -but I recommend to choose either all REDmod versions or "traditional" - don't mix and match - another potential point of failure.
Modding always require a bit of effort - but there are some wonderful mods out there for this game at the moment - worth it in my opinion...

bro this is actually good advice an on point. i'm familiar with how mods run as far as updating goes from the vanilla end changing everything on the mods end.. connan exiles was my favorite game with eewa modd and age of calamity modd. then the vanilla version changed absolutely every thing about the game breaking 100's of moder's content 5 years of content to get it all swept from under them some of the greatest never returned an neither did I but console finally got a update at the cost of pc's expense but any way back to this game i installed the the mods step by step as the guide shows from the youtube link i dropped above an the first modd is cyber engine tweaks which enables the modding menu not a redmodd then the next was Accurate E3 2019 visual restoration red mod

the visual mod tho is i believe whats made the games performance improve to a smooth stable lvl
artimid Jun 4, 2023 @ 1:30pm
I'll say that after installing just visual mods for better textures, and a flashlight mod - my game crashes almost constantly. Every time I close it, it crashes it, half the time I open it, it crashes, any loading screen - it has a 25% chance to crash. :(

damn is your file integrity corrupted?
artimid Jun 5, 2023 @ 6:45am
Doesn't seem so, I've run it a few times, but I'm also getting daily updates for shader cache things. No idea why the mods just wrecked me. ^_^ But while I'm in, the mods make an improvement, just wanted to make sure as it was something to consider.

not only updates cause a mod to misbehave they require constant maintenance sorta like a pet like your friend left his pit bull in your house to look after except your girl has a cat or something idk where i was going with that but they do need realignment often

there's a lot of great mods out there, i think its totally worth it. though you will have to deal with upcoming updates and additions the game will eventually receive which will always break some mods.

i would probably hold off on it for the rest of the week. with cdpr showcasing the new expansion which will almost certainly feature the upcoming patch and its features as well and whatnot on the 8th or 11th, i wouldn't be surprised if they released that anticipated patch around the same time or a little after.
