I just don't get this...

I'm doing the Brain Dance thing in "I Fought the Law"!
I know how the layers and everything works, but not what I'm supposed to do.

The first thing that I detect is a sound in Audio mode, at about 15 seconds shown as green rings there is a kind of Thud sound.

Second I noticed that the assassin isn't stopped by the guard at the security gate as the detective was, which happens about a minute into the recording,

And last the screen near the first guard light up in visual mode just after the assassin walks through.

Each of these occurrences is indicated by a small magnifying glass icon.

I can't click on the icon or anything, and I don't see anything else other than the detective appearing to take something from the dead assassin's body, but no magnifying glass icon appears.

Then the recording ends.

I'm having the same problem with the "Disasterpiece" Brain Dance, I see three places where I see the name and addresses of companies, (what I'm supposed to be looking for) but no actions that I can take in response.

In both of these, that's it, I can't get out of them because they never come to an end.

What am I supposed to do the complete these, they don't even have an exit button.

The Disasterpiece part I've had on hold with a save just before getting into Judy's car for a week, after trying over and over to get it to end.

If I can figure out what to do I can go at any time and start it again.

Like I said, I just don't have any idea what they expect me to do, is there some action I'm supposed to take when I see the magnifying glass Icon?

There are videos on youtube, but you need to change layers and look at everything, including a door.

Do you have any mods, they can cause problems.

Did you not do the tutorial during Information?

When you see an magnifying glass, you need to rest your cursor over the item. You will see a red progress scan bar. When this bar finishes, you will gain the relevant information. These are typically keyed to the layer they are in, Visual, Thermal, or Audio. You will see a band pop up on the relevant layer line at the top of the screen when one becomes available.

OK, I'll try again, don't remember seeing any progress bar. I'll look for it this time.

You can pause the braindance and let the bar fill. it is not particularly intuative and a U Tube guide might help.

Sorry if I misunderstood your knowledge of the mechanic... but to analyze something that has the magnifying glass icon you need to use your optics (tab key if you are playing with keyboard and mouse). You can even zoom using the mouse wheel if you are far away. Also, sometimes you will need to change the angle to be able to see what you are supposed to see... usually (along with the magnifying glass icon) you will also note that the object you need to analyzing has a yellow color marking them. I hope I've helped

You may have to rewind and replay a few times to home in on the items you need to scan. If you aren't able to exit the braindance, it's an indication that you haven't found every clue required to proceed with the quest.

I finally found the last one, it was right where I thought it was, where the detective takes something from the body but I had a hard time getting the icon to show up, I finally saw it blink on as I passed over it and was then able to get in centered so I could point at it.

I went through the whole thing multiple times in each layer.

Now it's on to Disasterpiece.
