Earning Money Using Vending Machines.
Hello.

In Cyberpunk 2077, there is a way to make money (eddies) using products bought at vending machines in the game, according to this article at IGN (scroll about midway down the page to the section titled Earn Unlimited Money (and Crafting XP)).

So, I tried the steps outlined in the article. Essentially, they are: Keep buying items from a vending machine at ten eddies apiece until the machine is sold out. Add all those items to my inventory. Then disassemble those items so they can be crafted then sold at a higher value than I paid for those consumables initially.

However, after I add such items to my inventory, there is no option to disassemble them (at least as far as I can see). I definitely made sure to buy the items listed at ten eddies each.

Have I not progressed far enough in the game's main storyline to do this? I'm currently still on the Playing for Time main job in Act One, though lately I've been just doing some side jobs and quelling some crimes found with the NCPD scanner.

So, for any of you who have tried this: Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Any other tips?

It's no longer possible to disassemble food and drink items, out of a vending machine or otherwise. I think you can disassemble health and other boosters, so give that a try. Grenades can be disassembled for a decent return in crafting materials.

I don't think I would disassemble grenades very often, since I'm actually starting to value them in combat more and more. Sometimes, they make it easier to deal with hostile encounters, dispatching enemies a bit more efficiently. In addition to the usual business with the rifles and machine guns, throw a few grenades here and there into enemy territory, hehe.

Oh yes...you certainly don't want to disassemble them all, but I find I have literally hundreds of some types and never use them all. Ditto the health boosters...I am constantly picking them up and accumulating hundreds of some types. Maybe that's just me, tho'...

if you like grenades you'll love the GASH Antipersonnel Grenade. when enemies are closing on you throw that and they'll avoid it like the plague and when they rush to cover it makes them prime targets for tech weapons to end them.

There were a lot of infinite $ crafting things that were fixed.
The disassembling cans was fixed in 1.3 I think.
The sell the painting for 5k and buy it back for nothing thing was fixed (I forget when).
The 'craft for free' perk used to roll once for a stack, so you could save scum to craft 10000 legendary grenades for free, scrap them, repeat - I think this was fixed in 1.6 (maybe it was 1.5).

Really money isn't a problem, just level up and mob drops $ value goes up a lot.
Also I think vendor item duping still works (for infinite stuff you can sell for $).

The way you make money now is simple. You just buy a legendary crafting spec of the Smart SMG or Smart Sniper rifle.
Make a lot of them and buy crafting parts with the guns you sell. The items required to make those weapons cost less then what you sell the weapons for. Remember that you can buy crafting supplies from gun stores and drug stores. So find a place where there is a gun store and drug store next to each other. There is one such place right at the north east of the city.

The reason this is better is because it is much faster than the can thing. You also gain crafting levels much faster than with cans as creating more valuable things give more XP.
As you will have maxed out crafting you also get a lot of perk points rather fast this way.

Cloudseeker has the right idea.

Just craft legendary sniper rifles. Go to the gun merchant, sell all the legendary sniper rifles, and buy the crafting components. Drain his bank account. Go outside, skip time 24 hours. Repeat the process infinite amount of times.

You can get over 1 million eddies in less than 2-3 hours.

You can do it even faster if you go to the junk vendor on the edge of the city in the desert you dont have to go outside to skip time you can do it standing right in front of him
