I have very rarely had any of the problems people describe with just about everything, I use three mods CET Redscript and no more radios.
I don't have the romance enhanced mods.
Yes, you cannot use any of the other text based romance mods with PMO, or any translation fixes, since these can interfere.
Question, did you start a full new game after installing PMO?
It can mess with text based parts if you didn't, and installed mid playthru.
Especially if you already have folks in your phone list (the texts from Jackie being some of the lost ones if you install any time after the start, for example. Think I remember someone having this problem in the mods posts section too.)
Which choice did you pick for the 'thanks for helping at Clouds' text?
That one is from PMO, you have to be carefull if like me, you are on small screen.
First time I got that text, I accidentally picked the 'oh, f off, princess' one and had to go back 5 mins because I was so surprised how nasty it was lol. Couldn't see the whole reply when I picked it, was frantically button mashing and I think she went cold for me (the mod *does* say, 'choices matter' lol so maybe that is one of them)
A couple things actually pop out from your comment here. This maybe helpful. Because of all the updates my game was in fact started and re started and then gets combulated with having to do clean reinstalls of the game and download saves from the cloud without mods installed and then adding them later. so yeah if this is a known issue this may help me find a solution.
On the second point, I didn't get a choice. I read the text but there was no opportunity to respond. And to be honest the phone call system has been buggy throughout, I've gotten a lot of calls with no sound.
So now I wonder if I can find an old save and remove the mod, and see if I can get the quest to trigger.
Unless you are adding it in BEFORE the heist, but AFTER rescuing Sandra Dorset (and don't mind missing out on Jackie's text messages, after the heist, due to this) then yes, you MUST start a whole new save file the first time you install PMO
(Or, if you are like me....MULTIPLE new save files XD. I had to start all 3 of my girls over when I first installed the mod. But I do a LOT of replays)
Any save made after it is first installed is fine for updated versions.
Its just the initial install that requires you to start over (if you want to get the updated texts and the 8ug8ear as a romanceable character)
You also cannot use ANY translation patches or fixes for other mods.
This includes fixes for Judy and MascV mods, Panam and FemV mods in other languages.
You must ONLY use ether PMO or the standalone 8ug8ear romance mod (since the standalone mod conflicts with the full PMO version of the mod)
Judy/Panam/Kerry/River romance enhanced is fine, since it only deals with character movement and scripted daily routines.
But the enhanced text romance mods clash.
Missing Persons: Fixers Hidden Gems is compatible (I use this and PMO together, never had issues so far) probably because they alter different NPCs text files.
Players who use PMO with the AMM (appearance mod menu) mods and its additional pose and prop packs will need to download an extra patch file from the PMO file page for 8ub8ear otherwise things get a little messy (due to 8ug's custom Netrunner suit and something else)
Know I'm going over and rehashing what I've said before, its mostly from memory I'm dredging up what I've posted to the player who was in your situation.
But I also had to use Google translate for them (lol) to Spanish, since their understanding of English (and my using slang, which I had to cut out doing lol) to try to help them.
And I freely admit that my grammar and syntax could use a few upgrade implants XD
Copy/paste on a tablet does my head in some days.
(But its the price I pay, to laze in bed and use the forums here, rather than get up early and type on PC)
thanks my dude. All of that is very helpful. At least I know now, my save game is probably corrupt due to installing the mod after the game in progress. Of course dealing with updates as well. So I probably will just wrap up this character play through and put the game down until 1.7 and/or Phantom Liberty comes out and do a vanilla run. I probably should have did a vanilla run this time, but I wanted to try some mods out.
Tho, don't give up on mods.
I've been using them since the day I installed (since I have seen the whole thing vanilla over the almost 2 years that everyone else had the game, but I didn't lol)
Started with little things like the mod that disables that annoying walk to jog thing.
(I JUST wanted to WALK to Tom's Diner to meet Takemura lol. Not walk out the building -jog- push walk key - walk to the corner of the diner -jog - run in and almost headbutt the table Takemura is sitting at lmao)
Then the Metro (so I can ride there and back to the Coyote Cojo and not worry about driving drunk, since my driving SOBER in this game is terrible enough. The Body Loto would go thru the roof XD)
When I found PMO, even tho its still not finished (waiting on the River Ward update) it was worth the restarting tbh, for me.
Got around 1000 hrs in the game by now lol.
And I STILL find little things that are new to me.
I can pretty much do most of the Watson gigs, ncpd points, hidden gems and hidden packages (another mod, that rewards exploration with 'stuff' you can pick from a bunch of options for 'stuff' lol) without needing the quest marker lines now lol.
do you have a secondary disk drive?
i have my ssd that steam ect is on, and a 1tb sata hdd that i use for storage. (its sooo empty, compared to the main drive lol)
the reason i am asking is, you can make yourself a backup of 1.6, or 1.7 and even 2.0 (phantom liberty) and have all 3 of them.
you can copy the cybrpunk2077 folder to another drive, create a shortcut to the 'Cyberpunk2077.exe' for each version
(yeah, its messy. your saves are in one place, so you will need to make backups of those too and keep them outside of the folder they are normaly kept in, or the game WILL see them and you will be able to delete them (not even know which ones are which since they look identical when first made)
for me, it all depends on what the updates bring.
if 1.7 is good (from watching what people say), i will make a backup of that version to keep (untill the expansion hits)
same with my current version (1.61. no shiny Nvidia new stuff for me right now, i have a 1660 so its not going to do anything but give me grief maybe lol) i already made a backup on the D drive.
if the expansion is good (i will watch players playthru's and read spoilers, im happy to) then i will get it.
but if it does things i dont like, goes places i wont go to, do things i wont...then i will stick with 1.6 or 1.7.
even if it means i cant update most of my mods (that have been updated for 1.62/hotfix lol)
currently i'm playing via the shortcut to the .exe file in the main drive.
it means steam wont update it, since im not starting it via steam.
sure, i loose my ability to get achevements. but i can still play the game (with my mods) and thats worth more to me lol.
