yep i did and all saves from different background where lost. Also the Manual saves
I mean, i played for 26 something hours before i reached the end and then i took a look at the saves. There was freaking hundreds of them lol. (i'm kind of a save wh**e but still)
That's such a basic feature in most games, you have as much manual saves as you want and let's say, 5 auto-saves and a certain amount of quicksaves.
Check that has not happened to you, if it has, your saves might have been replaced via that?
If so, turn cloud saves (and cross platform saves too, I think?) off.
You can make a backup manually of your manual saves.
Each save has a number (you can see the level, life, number and game patch number on the save/load screen) find the save you want to backup, note down the number.
Go to the cdpr folder (it's the one up from cyberpunk 2077) and make a folder there to copy the save number folder into.
(The game sees ALL files that are saves, if they are in the Cyberpunk 2077 folder lol, but that means you can accidentally delete them too)
Or, you could copy the saves to another drive, or different folder
It's kinda complicated, bit of a fart around, but it's a good way to backup.
I have multiple named folders in the cdpr folder there. Each one is a character I have made and play. Every char has a V first name (Valerie, Vincent, Vikki ect.) And a lifepath second name (Vincent Nomad or Violet Corpo)
Each one has a starter save (getting out of the car with Jackie, to rescue Sandra Dorset) and another in V's apartment after the heist. This lets me copy ether of those back into the main folder if I want to replay that character.
When I fancy punching things to death, I copy over the last save from Vinnie Ginger (my angry ginger boi streetkid lol) but when I'm done with that, I copy the NEW last save back over so I don't loose progress.
I always delete all autosaves every playsesion, and usually manually save in V's apartment before I go to bed irl.
There are two handy mods for saves.
'filter saves via lifepath and type'
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3400
Cycle thru savetype with the Q button (manual, quick, auto, endgame and point of no return)
Cycle thru lifepath type with E (Corpo, Nomad or Streetkid)
And
'Named Saves'
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4521
Allows you to name your manual saves, in the bar above the (save game) button.
I use both now. Started with just the filter, since I had one of each lifepath fem V to begin with.
Then wanted a Mox Streetkid, but didn't want to mix up my main V lol.
So now I use the manual save, name each save by character (so... Vikki Mox after Dex, for example)
