Overdrive mode is kinda overhyped
I tried it and compared it with the current RT on psycho settings. The difference was very very minimal however you slice your fps in half. I would def recommend running RT on psycho at higher resolution rather than overdrive at lower res in order to get the same fps.

If you are curious I tested this on a 3080. At 720P ~50 fps RT overdrive, 1080P ~25-30, 1440P ~15-20, 4K crash.

Yeah right minimal. The difference is massive. I tested it on my 4090 but this video shows it better:

Every one of those scenes you linked it is obvious. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the light bleed in scene 2 is especially atrocious.

Not sure what you were expecting? I mean if you're not hyped to see real-time rendering of a fantastically complex lighting system, then I guess the RT overdrive feature isn't worth hyping. But you had to know that's what you were going to get, you know?

if you know were to look the difference is certainly there, but if your just playing the game I am having trouble spotting any real difference.

Only difference to me was in scene 3 that I noticed.
You're blind if you can't see the huge difference in all three of those scenes.

If you have the hardware, you can be very happy! The devs made a stellar job on this one. 4k in overdrive though ... you have a GPU that does not exist that can run raytracing at 4k with a decent fps? ... come on ... April fools was 10 days ago

lmao looks incredible rn on my 4080@4k/DLSS3, just been sitting here since patch launch taking screenshots

It looks better with Rt overdrive. Definitely got to have the newer cards for it to be worth enabling.

Are you sure that that isn't the bloom doing that? This game uses both bloom and RT lighting, and the bloom can only be turned off via a mod.

It's light bleed. Look under the desk to the left.

Been playing with the path tracing on, on my 4080. Dark areas are way darker, bright areas brighter some areas very dark but with blinding bright lights in them (compared to Psycho ray tracing). I noticed shadows were a bit better I think and reflections were more pronounced. Overall it's different but I don;t know if it really feels much better when I'm playing. I guess it's subjective.

More than playable (well over 60 FPS) on a 4090 at 4k with DLSS 3 & DLSS set to Performance.
