eye mods for character creation
I am looking for something compatible with Redmod to give better character creation options for eyes,if anyone has a suggestion. The shape of the eyes specifically - not just the eyeballs. Thanks

But you can alter the shape on the creation screen.

I don't like the choices offered

You should see what nexus mods has to offer, if it's not there then it probably doesn't exist.

When you say the shape, you mean the style of the eye? (Round, sleepy, slanted ect?)
Or the shape of the pupil or iris? (Pupils like a cat, alien, eyes like BlueMoon from us cracks?)

There are quite a few mods that allow for more iris colours.
Some need the unique eyes core. Others use a different base mod. Many are just single archive files that replace one eye colour in the palet.

Currently I'm using the 'new eyes' option of 'Kala's eye collection'
Uses the 'Halv's unique eyes' base and works with the 'heterochromia' mod that allows V to have 2 different coloured eyes.

Its got 14 different eye sets. Lots of colours to pick from, but also has unusual ones.

Android and galaxy eyes.
Arasaka eyes, which have a visible ring around them and 'kiroshi' written around the edges (look like Hanako's)
Fantasy eyes, half of these have no pupil, half do. There are catlike slitted pupils, heart shaped pupils. Acid smiley face ones. Iris types like rainbow, opal and galaxy.
The packs 'new eyes' and 'running out of names eyes' are good if you just want lots of colours. New pack is half normal iris and half ringed like the Arasaka ones, but no writing.
The running out of names pack has a lot of the same, but ones with mixed or tri colour irises in varying intensity.
Exotics has the goat eyes, feline eyes in large and small pupil types.
Damaged eyes can give V eyes that show well..damage. Bloodshot and so on.
Then there are blind eyes, corrupted eyes.
Lastly, Blue Moon Galaxy eyes. These are ether just galaxy style with the Arasaka style rim (one iris and no pupil) or the double iris like Blue Moon's, which come in different shades.

Not sure about eye shapes, that might take a unique V body mod, or the character preset mods. I've never used those, so can't give info much on them.

@Alceme
Yeah, I was using a single chartreuse eye swap for a while, since I'm not too fond of the ones that were available (I mostly use natural style eyes, but my Corpo saves have cyberware around the eyes usually)

I love both the 'new eyes' and the 'running out of names eyes' sets.
But settled for now on 'new eyes' as it has a light green that's almost what I wanted for my main V, but still has some colours my other V's use. My Corpo's can now use the Arasaka style eyes too, which is a bonus.

They remind me of my fave eyes for the sims2.
Such amazing eyes by an artist called Enayla. Beautiful and detailed, both fantasy style and realistic versions. Always installed those for my games, along with the custom skintones too.
Elementals. Fae. Wondefull pale skintones for my poor left out ginger Sims lol, with dazzling green, mint or emerald eyes.

Thanks -yeah - looking for different eye shapes - not just the iris. Can't get Kala's to work with Redmod anyway though.

have you first of all installed the 'Halv's Unique eyes' mod needed for the set you picked?
if so, do any other eye mods that use the Halv's mod work?
if not, you might want to try using cybercmd.
its a mod that helps folks who cant get other mods to work with REDMod, among other things.

thanks! Halv and Kala's don't say "ok for Redmod" or whatever - does it still mean they can be used with it?
Prolly just play it as it is rather than keep messing with it
Silverbane7 Mar 26, 2023 @ 10:20am
most mods can work together, unless they say they are incompatable.
yeah, you can get some mods that don't play nice together, even when they don't conflict.

are you manually installing your mods, or using Vortex?
if using Vortex, try manually placing Halv's mod and the Kala archive of your choice.
i manualy install all my mods for most games (project zomboid, minecraft and terarria being exceptions where i use the workshop or ATLauncher) since that way, if i stuff up, it was ME that did it (lol)

its not too difficult, for a couple of mods.
far as i know, those should work with REDMod since what REDMod did was create a seperate mod folder, where as the old version of modding just ether used Cyber Engine Tweeks folders (script based stuff) or shoved stuff into the Archive folder.

uninstalling an .archive mod is simple. find it in the folder, right click and choose 'delete' and its gone.

I'm manually installing - thanks
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2421?tab=files

I'd be happy to just get this one to work and skip the eye mods. So this should be compatible with Redmod also?

Do I even need Redmod?

depends.
some mods only work via REDmod. some work ether via REDMod or the older archive method. some come in both versions, so you pick the one you want. if you have REDMod installed, and the mod offers a REDMod version or an archive version, try the REDMod version first, and if that does not play nice, remove that version and try manually installing the archive version instead.

for me, i'm going to wait to install it till after Phantom Liberty and the patches that come after it.
simply because the mods i like to use are the older archive method.

oh, and since you just started modding...word of advice.
turn off auto updates on your cyberpunk. set it to 'only update when i play' and then go into your steam folders and make a shortcut to your 'cyberpunk 2077.exe' file on your desktop.

that way, if the game wants to patch, don't let it automaticaly do it. check here in the forums for if the new patch is breaking peoples game ect.
you can just start the game via the .exe and wait it out for the patch to ether be fixed (if its the patch breaking the game) or for whatever mods you might have, to be updated (usualy its CET that needs patching, but the maker of that is fast most of the time)

im doing that at the moment lol.
you loose the alt+tab to talk to your steam friends, achevements pinging and hours played. but your game works and you get past the steam patching ninja.

you can also make a backup copy of the games files to another drive if you have one. just a simple copy of the folder will do.
i've done that myself. got things just how i like them, saved it to my D drive incase of a snafu
