Phantom Liberty -> "Decide how the story ends"
I've seen this statement in the marketing material of the new DLC.
It is unclear to me, does this mean the DLC brings additional endings for the main Cyberpunk story? This wasn't the case for their previous title, as the DLCs were only separate chapters that happened before the main story ended.

Yeah this there should be (at least) 1 new ending.

Let's see what the ending actually is before we got too excited.

I guess there will be a new ending and a couple of variants like the others

It would be amazing if this was CDPR's plan:

- Release main game with only depressing / dark endings
- community wishes a good ending
- Expansion with the "good" solution

Hints:
- the Relic Skill tree was there from the start, players supposed its only a "place holder for cut content"
- in reality it was the announcement for the "needed part" to cure V

It could be that. It could also be an even darker ending, where V swears an oath to the NUSA only for the NUSA to stab you in the back.

Thats more likely. There is nobody in night city who wouldn't stab you in the back.

Indeed.

I hope that i'm proven wrong, because i would actually like for there to be a good ending, but i'm just not convinced the Dev's want that.

But try to imagine.

V looks for a cure desperatley. Game released in 2020, in 2023 its finished. After that, similiar to Wichter 3, you can basically only purchase the complete game, like Witcher 3 and Blood & Wine.

Therefore then the game is complete. The years between 2020 and 2023 are not important in the judgement of the game once its fully released (including expansion).

Its enough years ago to sell a package / Goty edition where you get the complete game. Players buying it after that will never notice the time where there was no expansion.

Its only logical within the game that V needs the Relic skill tree to cure theirselves. You know what was tried to get the cure in the main game. But something always was missing.

Im almost certain that this would be the perfect finish for an awesome game, the expansion after 2023 is basically getting part of the whole game, therefore also the things happening in Pacifica / PL. Which means the sometimes critisized short lenghts of the main story would be expanded (haha).
And when you look at it and the estimated new lenghts of PL main missions, the whole main arc would be a lot bigger and that in a logical way. The Relic skill tree.

I read a rumour about the new ending is actually saving V's life but he/she has to sacrifice / lose his/her humanity in the process basically turning him/her into a different person so basically sure, V lives but at the price of becoming a different person, it would be perfect for the other endings where V either chose to become an AI and let Johnny take the body or keep the body but dying in about 6 months but at least becoming a legend and getting his/her signature drink in the Afterlife
