Idris Elba really?

I mean I love the guy as an actor in pretty much everything he is in, but why is he in this game? Red flags going off left and right when they hire another big actor for this DLC. The original game barely delivered a fraction of what they promised and to this day its still nowhere near to what they promised and overhyped for months pre release. Now this DLC trailer drops and I see Idris Elba in it and you already know they probably saved money on some other end just so he could be in it.

Just focus on the game and stop wasting money on luxury stuff like this. This trend of fully bringing hollywood actors into games and not just as VA all the time now can go and die already.

I personally hate ♥♥♥♥ acting in games soooo.... I would rather they spend money on some proper actors and have the story to back up a great actor. Win/Win in my books.

In my opinion i've never seen a bad movie hes made.. even poor writing and stories are held up by his acting. Hes one of my favourite actors these days.

I think Keanu reeves worked really well to bring the right feel into the game. Do I wish it was better? Sure but I don't set my expectations higher than they should be, compared to what else is there in this space its pretty good.

Agreed. I really hate it when companies pay professional actors to act in their projects y’know? Total waste of money.

Think how much money could be saved if CDPR simply hired Bob or Jason from down the street.

I'd prefer they hired professional actors. Would make interactions more engaging because, you know, they know how to voice act.

I like Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba, but having big stars 'appear' in the game is really just a gimmick, and adds to the production cost. Don't hate it, but don't love it either.

I'd rather they had hired a mid-tier actual rocker to play Johnny...someone with a name and a following, but wouldn't feel too familiar. Reeves is far from the best voice actor around, even though he's not terrible either. Idris Elba is a fine actor, but he didn't need to do this. I bet there are dozens of other actors that could have done as much as he will, with the added value of not being a known quantity.
