How does the DLC connect to the main game if I finished the main story?
Anyone knows how you start the DLC if you already finished the main story?

Dunno. I do have a new save waiting for the DLC though. The save point is right at the beginning of the Sandra Dorsette rescue mission in the garage.

Up to you OP, but I plan to use a new'ish save for the DLC.

Well there are now some previews of phantom liberty from journalist. One stated:

"Taking place shortly after players reach Pacific in the Cyberpunk 2077 campaign, netrunner Songbird speaks directly to V, telling her she can cure her of the ticking time bomb that is the Relic program in her head, aka Keanu Reeve’s Johnny Silverhand. "

So phantom liberty will start after act 2 and in the time you reach pacifica in main quest so you can progress freely.

So new savegame needed afterall?
DLC release in more than 3 months.. so what now? I started my second playtrough since 2020 because i expected DLC will come in one or two month at most. But what i am supposed to do for 3 months if i dont want to miss new items and things since it looks like that DLC will take part somewhere in act 2 and maybe have new ending. I must now put the game to freeze again for atleast 2 months to not miss too much or?

I just dont want to rush it now and start it again in 3 months, i just dont enjoy games anymore when i finished them recently i usually need few years of pause before replay.

Also is CDPR ever gonna finally atleast tell us if 1.7 patch will be compatible with our saves?

Will Phantom Liberty Continue with Our Version of V from our saved games, or a New Version?
Sorry if this is explained somewhere and I missed it. Thank you.

Shop page says the main game is required to purchase it. So my guess is yes.

That would be my guess too, I just wish there was more clarity on the subject.

idk what you meant but past Witcher expansions lets you play with a new version of Geralt, skipping all the prior story just so you can play the expansion, while also giving you the option to play with the Geralt stats you currently have. It might be the same thing if it is an entirely new story as big as The Witcher expansions

Oh that's good to know, thank you!

You will play as V, but i'm not sure we'll get to look like our V's, or atleast for how long.

In one of the previous teasers, we see some strange tech-mask getting placed on V's face, and even back then a lot of us started to wonder if that's supposed to be some kind of face changing tech. In this one, we actually see a character change their face, so yeah, pretty sure that's precisely what that is.

So will we have to use this? For how much of the DLC will we have to use it? Is it a 5 minute gimmick, or will we spend 80% of this DLC wearing somebody elses face? Who knows.. but it does have me worried.

I don't understand why this is a serious question. Should we also ask if it will require a new video card and Netflix subscription?
I got pretty attached to my V by the end of the game, so I'm just wondering if the character I got attached to will be in this DLC, or will it be a new version of the character? I'll play it either way, I was just curious.

The point for me right now is...

should i restart a new run with a new V, and get prepared for the expansion (which i supposed we could play until we "Meet Hanako at Embers")...

...or should i stay calm, and start that run when the expansion comes, because it has a lot more content during the regular run??

Anybody knows anything?

This is little bit different than geralt. Witcher have same ending and same story every time. Also DLCs in witcher can be played anytime even with new character because they are not bound to main story or "acts". You will always have to finish dexter gig same way to play this DLC because it would be weird to press "Play phantom liberty" on main menu without intro of how you get relic, who is johny silverhand or how do you get in the city. My guess is it will just open when ACT 2 start and you only get some kind of message and new "?" on map that will trigger start of the DLC and add all the quests and gigs to the map.

If its not already obvious from the DLC Art picture or the footage they showed in any of the trailers, yes its the same V. The DLC takes place before you end the story of the main game, you will probably need to load older save or the game itself loads before the point of no return.

But it’s a standalone expansion in its own right, too. CDPR says you can play the campaign and when you reach Phantom Liberty content, you’ll receive a text that indicates you can begin the expansion storyline. Or, you can start a new game and “fast forward” right to the expansion if you’d like. And those who beat 2077 can also jump back into that save and play through this new story.

Its likely that a save that has no mods will be comparable. I mean no mods AT ALL.
Its also likely that 1.7 patch will arrive before the dlc.
(Which will FUBAR most of your mods in any case, as they always do)

If you have never modded the game, and have saves that you have patched normally (ie, the playthru you started not long ago, which was patched to 1.6, 1.61 or even 1.62.... or a save that was made earlier, but updated to patch 1.6 or higher successfully) or started a new game with 1.7, it should be fine.

If you modded your game....
Condolences, friend.
But you can tell the game not to patch until you start playing, then use the Cyberpunk.exe short cut from inside the game folder to play the old version without starting it in steam (meaning it shouldn't patch)
You can then wait until mods catch up (or are rendered obsolete by the patch/dlc)

You can also backup the whole game folders onto another hard drive or external drive, to keep as if it were a version or snapshot. Just remember that your saves can be read by any version, on any drive.
(So back up your saves outside of the folder in your username folder. I make named folders one folder above the main save folder, the game can't see them there. I got about 8 V's now lol all with different V based first names, and surnames/lifepath so I can tell the difference)

No it's definitely not obvious. The trailer shows V and Johnny is a way worse state than she is in the final Arasaka mission, so it's quite possible this is something that happens after you do your little suicide mission & Arasaka tower. Remember according to the story you do a lot of stuff after, move to a new place, live together with Judy, visit the orbital space station etc. It would be quite a dissapointment if they simply put it before the elevator save.
