Is the Phantom Liberty DLC a standalone game?

CD Projekt presents DLC as a separate game. Will there be no changes on the map in the main game? And the choice from the main game does not affect the DLC? Then why did they release a full-fledged game as an DLC :/

From what's been said so far, it works a bit like TW3's Blood and Wine. It's not standalone. It's an expansion where there's a distinct new area to explore at a certain point. With how Cyberpunk 2077 is structured, it looks like the story to it will work like the other major branches off the main story. We wait to find out how/if it is interlinked, but we know it adds a new potential ending.

No, it will require the base game since it's a DLC. It says it will have a city within a city to infiltrate. So I'm thinking it will be like Megaton or Diamond City if you've played Fallout 3 or 4 but probably a lot larger in scale and more to do.

So the base game map will probably show where this "city within a city" is located and you'll probably be able to see the outskirts of it in the base game world but you'll enter it and be in another game map/world to explore. At least that's my assumption from what I've read about it over on GOG since I own the GOG version.

That's how it works with other games, so i would assume so.

Yes. If you own it on GOG, you need to buy it on GOG. Same as with Steam.

No it is not stand alone. You will need the main game to play the expansion.

No it is expansion, although i really prefer it as a standalone but second POV outside of V.
