Lost all my save files! Anyone have a solution?

A couple weeks ago i had to reinstall my entire windows because of problems with system crashes and hardware. This problem is resolved now, but i lost some files (mostly unimportant) i had on my Windows (C:) drive because i didn't have a backup and everything got wiped during reinstallation. Unfortunately this also includes all my Cyberpunk save files since the folder is located in C:\Users\Your username\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077.

Now to my surprise, despite having steam cloud activated, none of my saves were backed up on there. I don't have this problem with any other of my games on steam after the system wipe. They either have the save files in the cloud or unlike Cyberpunk, have the save folder located in my documents folder, which is on another hard drive that wasn't affected by the wipe.

My question is am i missing something here or doing something wrong? Why wasn't anything saved on the cloud? Or did i really just lose 370 hours worth of save files and can't do anything about it?

Are you sure that the saves weren't made? Or are the saves possibly in the Cloud but simply not downloading/activating?

If it's the latter, you could try googling for a way to force download a cloud save. I found this one which explains it pretty well:

I hope this works for you, I'd devastated to lose my saves.

In the future always make a system Image file using something like EaseUS Todo backup and recover when your computer is working. This will let you reload Windows just the way it was when everything was working without losing anything.

It will create a recovery disk that will reboot your computer and restore it.
You won't even have to restore anything, just a simple process, that takes about 10 minutes on my computer.

I can't tell you how many times this has saved me.

Your saves were probably in your Users folder which was removed when Windows was reinstalled.

Good luck getting a save from Steam, I'm not sure why it sometimes doesn't seem to save them online.

If you do the backup image thing remember to update it from time to time.
I reinstalled one of mine not too long ago and found that I had not updated the save for one of my games in a couple of months and didn't feel like going back and doing it all over again.
