Report a translation problem
So far every major content update did this since a lot of existing code either gets removed or changed, so how willing one is to risk the chance of that happening is up to each person individually. I personally won't risk it and will just start fresh.

You can start a new game whenever you like. Besides the added content in PL the only other thing that MIGHT affect your playthrough is the change to skills when 1.7 releases, or maybe PL, I don't remember the exact time that change will occur. Go, play some. Just keep in mind your play style could change when the skill revamp is released.
