It's really up to you, personally I like silenced pistols and sniper rifles, others may hate that.
Its pure roll playing and dont make a real difference. You get a couple of extra dialogue options and a unique sidequest. Thats it.
IMO heres how I rank them in 100% role playing.
1. Corpo (Best for Female V)
2. Nomad (Best for Male V)
2. Steet Kid (Its the biggest piece of dog crap)
Subjective opinions, nothing more.
Corpo means you are working at Arasaka and you already Know Jackie Welles from the start and during the game you have higher knowledge of how corpos work and direct dialogues in that way.
Nomad means you starts in the badlands as a nomad coming into Night City, you meet jackie Welles there by doing a gig, and you have unique dialogue options when it comes to nomads and their life/behavior.
Street kid means you grown up in Night city, you know every gang, you meet Jackie when you try to steal the same car as he is.
For example in my last play trough i was a female V as a nomad and it was perfectly normal and natural. Previous guy probably just talks from some sort of prejudice or preconception of which gender is appropriate for which life path.
bro V is the name of the main character
First time round don't skip the dialogue. It can get a bit boring but it helps you understand what's going on. I thought you meant which weapons role to choose earlier.
All guns Blazing is not always the way to go.
I'm in agreement with you. I didn't like Street kid at all, but Corpo fit female V and Nomad fits male V perfectly
your nomad character will be just as clueless as you in most things NightCity, so you both learn together.
Corpo start is best if you are the type of player who likes to play people off against one another, do dark/evil playthru's for games (does not mean you are evil as corpo V always, you can choose to act/be evil in all three lifepaths. its just easier i think, if you play corpo)
you get access to more sacrcastic or nasty feeling dialogue options, and your corpo background gives your character insights and in's with other corpo folks.
street kid is mostly a middle ground. your V will be street savy, a punk that grew up in the gutter. you know a little about the corps' but its mostly an outsiders view. you know the streets though, and how things work, get done.
best for those who know the genre, or play the tabletop game (as any character roll other than Corp/Cop/Nomad) and feel at home in the City of Night.
does not offer that many extra dialogue options, but the ones you do get, revolve around the city itself, like knowing the gangs, the drugs, and the city spots, places like the Afterlife are already known to your V (not as locations, just as knowledge)
so.
a player new to the game/genre should start with the Nomad path, so they can learn along with the character. Then try the street kid or corpo path after that, depending on their playstyle.
(subjective personal opinion)
2. The reason why I feel Corpo is better for Female V and Nomad is better for Male V is 100% based on the voice actors. Its my opinion the Female V put in the far superior performance and can do anything and can become anyone. I particularly think she did an amazing job as a Corpo. Male V is just aight, too one note and rough for me. Doesnt play a convincing Corpo at all, Street Kid sucks overall, which leads to only Nomad by default which his voice does a pretty good job at doing. Plus Male V Nomad, Panam Nomad....it makes sense.
Thats my 100% subjective opinion of Life rolls....except Street Kid. Its scientifically to be proven terrible.
Also street kid opinion: Totally agree, it makes absoultely no sense you basically live in Mama Welles's bar and have no idea who is Jackie. Like there is nobody who could be so oblivious.
Honestly, maybe thats just me and my hate for Panam, but i just can't stand the thought that male robot-no-emotion-whatsoever nomad V just ends up in night city then he also has to choose between being gay or getting together with Panam. If only there was another option to become a monk or something.
I think I beaten the game 5 times so far.
I have 1 and only 1 Nomad Male V Problem Solver legendary Short Circuit Build with a Panam romance. Just to do it. I dont like Male V at all. Not a fan of his voice for role playing (no disreapect to the voice actor.) I really dont like the male charactor customization options. All male Vs are ugly IMO. I tried Corpo Male V once and I couldnt do it. Its just like a street kid just hired on an Araska internship.
I have 4 female Vs...All Corpo. Favorite build of all time is Female Corpo V with Legendary Short Circuit Monowire. Her voice is perfect, You can make some stunning looking female Vs. IMO Corpo V is Cannon. It just tells the best story and is doesnt break immersion.
Thats just my opinion. I would think this game would benefit from a Nomad spinoff, but Corpo is where its at. Street Kid is garbage as usual.
Shortest is Street Kid
Longest by a mile is Nomad.
You can tell CDPR made Nomad first... its basically a side quest. Then Corpo which I feel is the most Cyberpunkish. We dont talk about street kid.
