Wasn't the DLC suposed to be free for people who bought the pre-purchase version?
I remember when i bought the game on the pre-sale and it was said we would receive the game and the dlc upon launch, now i see the dlc been sold and theres no mention to the free dlc for previous pre-purchase buyers

It's called an Expansion, not a DLC. This isn't some minor 2 gigs, a couple weapons, a new car or jacket content. This is an entire addition to the game that will be huge, and it will change many things.

DLC = Free
Expansion = Paid

This has always been the case, just as it was with Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine expansion for The Witcher III Wild Hunt.

There will also be a Physical Copy of Phantom Liberty as Game of the Year Edition for Cyberpunk 2077 in the stores.

No.... you probably meant free content updates which CDPR have done.

No games gives free exapansions simply for preorders. It always comes bundled in the price.

Not going to bother typing a unique response to the same question that has been answered and disproven time and again. I'll just copy and paste one of my past responses.

On the contrary, if you'd actually managed to take a few minutes to look up what they actually said, you would understand the "free DLC" program was originally scheduled to be delivered in 2021, which they indeed fulfilled. In fact, they actually undersold themselves when they delivered MORE free DLC content than originally planned when they dropped the 1.6 Edgerunners patch last year.

On top of that if you simply took a few seconds to glance at the list of DLCs for the Witcher 3, it becomes immediately obvious to anyone with a basic level of comprehension which ones constitute simple, free DLCs and which ones are considered expansions which you have to fork out actual $$$ for.

I've made this analogy before and I'll repeat it again like a broken record: If a person walks into an ordinary adoption center for cats but then gets disappointed because they were expecting lions, tigers and leopards up for adoption, is it the fault of the adoption center or the massively unrealistic expectations of the person?

I don't even need to answer that question; you and I both know it.

You received exactly 18 DLCs for entirely free. This is an expansion which is an addition to the game with new locations, missions, characters, side missions, etc etc. Only because you paid once for a game 3 years ago, you won't get infinite content for free.

You got your free DLC.

If you don't want to pay for anything, you don't have to, you just won't get the expansion.

- Free jackets
- Free Apartments
- Free Dance clubs
- A free car
- A free alternate Johnny look
- Some free additional quests

You got the free stuff already. You will have to pay for the expansion.

They're literally the same thing, size is irrelevant.

Thats something people with small DLCs say...

All Exapansions are DLC.... Not all DLC are expansions.

They are not the same

in the world of gaming expansion classically , mean major content release like a new world ,area and big advances to the core gameplay ( like diablo :lord of destruction:)

2.0 = free.
Expansion = paid.
Personally I am going to start a fresh.

That's fine, so this is a DLC then.
