When it turns out to be good, I'll finally get it and the "wait" was worth it.
The game engine is being upgraded at the same time the DLC comes out. The DLC isn't being released on last-gen consoles, either.
Oh the game is really good. And After Patch 1.5 it runs perfectly fine between >50 and 90 fps at high on my i5 4690, RX 5700 and 16 GB RAM.
Lets See how good liberty will run on my system.
They are just making things more in line with the hardware available today because they no longer have to optimise for those potato 2013 consoles that ran the game at 720p with an unstable 30fps. It’s clear that CPDR want to create a next gen experience and now on PC they can push it a little further with the expansion now that it’s PS5/Series X exclusive and more people out there have more capable GPUs.
But even if everything is boosted on the spec sheet it doesn’t mean the game will stop working after Patch 2.0 if you don’t have those specs but it is highly recommended.
I mean, if you have a 6-8 years old hardware, you have bigger issues than how Cyberpunk will run on minimum settings..
You can still run phantom liberty with an old GTX 1060, and i7 6700 at low 30 fps. I'd say that's pretty reasonable for such old hardware. It's not like people who can't afford high end hardware are being left out.
All in all it seems they're aiming at their original vision without the limitations of last gen. They're implementing a lot of new things and as a consequence the system specs got higher.
The "need" to improve graphics wasn't first thought. More like a side effect.
It's a glorified tech demo for Nvidia's raytracing at this point.
Ray tracing is a fluff you enable when you have the actual hardware to utilize it properly. Ray tracing is not even a requirement to paly the game. The increased system requirements is an effect of them reworking the AI logic which use more CPU power, and since they don't need to support 12 years old hardware they can introduce better graphics for those who are willing to play on somewhat recent hardware to high-end hardware.
As i said before, if you have 12 year old CPU and 10 year old gpu, this game is not for you.
