Wrong. Many games have added NG+ after the fact. Spiderman 2 is about to do it.
Oh, I can imagine it alright XD.
Tho, the issue is that with today's multiplayer styles....
Your chooms don't just crash at your place, eat your food while you talk detes.
The Netrunner hacks your electronics for shim soft, the Techie dismantles your TV, toaster and microwave for spare parts. Both the Solo's just emptied your stash of weapons, ammo and nades.
The Rockerboy just set up a party line on your phone connection, and the cop just started going thru your media collection tagging half of it as contraband....which your Fixer (who's on said party line) is already finding buyers for XD
Myself, I imagined it more like...
You tag your chooms on your friends list (steam), send them an in game text.
"Yo, chooms, wana work a gig together?"
You head down to the Afterlife. Your already in the multiplayer mode.
Every gonk or gato in the place (baring the barkeep, hustle and Fixers) are players.
You sit your arse at the bar and wait.
They roll in, one at a time.
You link up an com's (how you party up for multiplayer) and the host (you, your invite after all) heads over to a large, old fashioned notice board.
'Merc Work'
You pick your gig. Call it's Fixer. (Not got enough cred to get work thru Rogue yet...but soon....) And get the co ords. Head out into NC to have a little fun, make some edds, crack some gonk heads.
(You can copy your single player character appearance over. Cosmetic gear only (no stats) till you buy some in multiplayer. Starring stats only when creating your char. Multiplayer character and single player character are not the same.)
NG+ is not the same as coop/multiplayer, though? It's just a gamemode where you start the game anew, only you're WAAAAAY overpowered already so you can coast through it on easy mode (yes, being sarcastic here - the appeal of NG+ eludes me just like the appeal of coop/multiplayer modes for singleplayer games) ...
Also, completely irrelevant argument since, to our best current knowledge, NG+ isn't in the cards for CP2077, either.
Ever heard of synergy? It’s a mod that allows an entire host of source games to be played in coop. Then there is the coop mod for Skyrim. I could go n and on. If fans can do it, then the paid professionals can do it as well.
I stll don't see how NG+ and coop/multiplayer mode are the same thing, as you're implying, or how NG+ MUST come with coop/multiplayer. There can be coop/multiplayer without NG+, there can be NG+ without coop/multiplayer (did the Witcher's NG+ add coop/multiplayer? I don't think so, Tim.)
In the end, it's CDPR's game, so they decide what goes into it and what doesn't. They say no coop, so - no coop. Deal with it. (And keep ignoring the other stuff I pointed out, that coop simply won't work with the existing game mechanics ...)
Terrible examples. Source has integral networking already, and an SDK, and editors plural. Skyrim also has modding tools from the developer and 3rd party, and if you know coop tes it was total trash for many years, until one motivated dev with skills and free time went in and did it. And both source games and skyrim could run on your cell phone today; that is assuming you have an 8G+ RAM and 4/4 or 6/2 octocore monster with a nice GPU, point being, they're old tech that a modern machine has no issues running at near-idle even with hundreds of mods.
Try that with this game, no SDK, no modding tools from the developer, and taxes even a monster gaming rig as if you were mining crypto with it. And we only have the 3 scripting frameworks for modding. It will be a nightmare of undertaking, and possibly thousands, tens of thousands, of hours of work. Whereas Orion will be in an industry standard, extremely popular engine with a huge range of editing tools, 3rd party integration to IDEs, integral networking...
re: "the professionals" that is definitely true, the only way we'll get functional, bug-free co-op in this lifetime is if CDPR implements it themselves. Or at least disgruntled ex-employees who walked off with stuff they weren't entitled to. Well, dreaming is free, and it's a good dream.
Here’s the kicker — Cyberpunk already has a co-op mod! So it is totally possible for professional developers, PDCR to add official coop support.
All I’m saying is that if CDPR wanted to add NG+ and/or coop they could. I have faith in their ability. If they want to, and did so, I would love it, and be willing to pay for it. If they don’t want to do it, then of course I will respect that and move on to another game. Not sure why you are being so combative.
Cooperative gameplay is when you and your friends or acquaintances (usually 2-4 people, rarely up to 8) play a story game together, or try to kill a boss controlled by a computer. Multiplayer is a multiplayer game mode, which involves playing online with a large number of players, most often strangers to you.
