interact with the wardrobe to see all the items of clothing you have found already.
you should see a bunch of slots, (6 slots unmodded)
you click on the slot, and on the right, your options will show up.
whatever you have found already, should appear in that menu to the right.
click on the items you ant to 'wear' and they will appear on your body.
(dont be surprised that each slot is 'naked' when you first use the wardrobe.)
if you equip a outer torso (jacket) item that makes your inner torso item invisible, you will get an eye with a / thru it in the inner slot, and that item becomes invisible.
once you have picked the outfit, you exit the wardrobe.
after that, just go into your inventory and click the 'outfit' button. choose the number outfit you made. select 'equip' (i think, its been a while lol)
and now you can be wearing clownshoes and a hazmat suit because they have amasing stats, but you look like you are wearing something nice.
are you clicking on the slots in the left hand side or the right hand side?
https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/5253?tab=videos#lg=2&slide=0
this is a video on how to use (extra wardrobe slots mod) the wardrobe, and around the 1 minute marck, it shows how to use the wardrobe slots in your inventory.
(not saying you have to use the mod lol, but i hoped it would have how to use the wardrobe to create an outfit and now to equip your chosen wardrobe slot. lucky they made a video.)
its basicaly the same, you will just have fewer slots.
(because it applies the mod based 'buffs' from the clothing that is 'seen', ie the wardrobe slot items)
if you dont use that mod, you have nothing to worry about.
as Cellar_Cat says, the game currently uses the stats from your equipped items.
(tho things will change slightly when 1.7 hits, since they are supposed to be changing up the difference between 'clothing' items such as tee-shirts, jeans ect, and 'Armour' items like armour jackets, flack vests ect. guess we will find more out when 1.7 hits
having said that, you should just be able to 'wear' your clothing on the wardrobe side, and 'equip' armour in the equipment slots then. best of both worlds)
How do you not understand it? The gear you use is the gear you equip, you know in the place where you equip gear. And how it looks depends on the outfit you chose to create.
yep.
wear the best gear, stats wise (far as i know, that would be the top tier versions of Johnny's stuff)
then you make yourself a bunch of 'looks' with the wardrobe. best thing about the wardrobe is, you dont need to KEEP the items. once its been through your grubby little fingers, the wardrobe saves the style. you can sell or dismantle everything you dont have to actualy equip.
(note, this is as of patch 1.63. your milage may vary once patch 1.7/phantom liberty and the armour/clothing upgrade hits)
