Bundle with no discount, well done devs!
Why does the game bundle only offer a discount to new players and not to those who have already bought the game???!!
Game bundles in Steam usually have adjusted prices for items that customers already own, but it seems the developers do not care for their existing supporters.

You realise the bundle price is for both? You won't get the expansion cheap BEFORE it launches and the reduced price is for the base game only.

I’m going to copy and paste my response from a similar thread since evidently some people do not understand how bundles work:

The Cyberpunk 2077 & Phantom Liberty bundle is a "Pre-Purchase" bundle and NOT a "Complete your Collection" bundle like The Witcher series bundle is for example.

"Pre-Purchase" and "Complete your Collection" bundles are two entirely discrete, separate types of bundles. The differences between the two types should be fairly self-explanatory but in case an explanation is required:

1. "Pre-Purchase" bundles allow you to preorder the base game and any upcoming future expansions. If you already own the base game, you can only buy the "Pre-Purchase" bundle as a gift for someone else. That is, you cannot activate it for yourself. Here's another example of a Pre-Purchase bundle on Steam currently (Victoria 3).

2. "Complete your Collection" bundles, as the name suggests, enables users to buy any remaining titles in a series they don't yet own at a reduced price to... you guessed it, complete their collection! This one's pretty self-explanatory so I don't think I need to elaborate any further.

To reiterate: There's nothing wrong with the CP2077 + PL bundle. It's functioning as intended and works perfectly fine since it's a "Pre-Purchase" bundle and not a "Complete your Collection" bundle. The OP just doesn't know the difference between the two.

The reduced price is for both the game and the expansion. If you were to buy the game and the expansion separately, your total would be around $60 USD. The current bundle price is pretty much $55, so you'll save $5 off the cost of the expansion.

Bogmore is right new DLC's never have discounts before release same for first time game releases. They will likely do it how you suggested just not until sometime after the initial release of the DLC

Yes it's a "Pre-Purchase" bundle which includes the base game, and we know buying the game at this time is not pre-purchasing, the bundle is only for DLC, and new players can buy base game + DLC and save money, but if they wanted to purchase them separately (like us who bought the base game before), they couldn't.

Exactly this.

Because the bundle isn’t a “Complete your Collection” bundle???

Like I literally cannot explain this any simpler. Check the Steamworks Documentation page on bundles. Everything is working as intended.

I know what you're talking about, but you do not get me.
It is a pre-purchase bundle and have benefits for new players if they decide to buy the game for the first time, why they give new players discount but not us????!!

Never mind, the benefits that I'm talking about is not that much to argue about it, but I was expected from the devs to give us something as well.

The developers don’t have anything at all to do with pricing; prices are set by the publisher.

And Valve is responsible for how the bundles work on Steam. If you want to raise a point about how existing players are prevented from purchasing the bundle, the logical decision would be to contact Valve.

So, fun fact: The publisher in this game IS the developer of the game. So the Dev? In this case? They do set the price.

Also, the bundle has been updated and is now working correctly (albeit without a good discount) in that it removes the base game from the bundle if you already have it. This was clearly a bug that people were also defending earlier. If I go to buy the bundle now it isn't $85, it's $55 because: "You already own this game." All bundles on Steam are "Complete your collection" bundles because it's supposed to discount games already in your library. All bundles do this because you can't keep buying the same game for yourself anymore since they removed the library.

The bundle still function the same as of writing this post. If you want to take advantage of the discount while owning the base game, wait until PL actually releases. Then the bundle will automatically become a "Complete your Collection" bundle.

And yet again, check the Steamworks Documentation page if you want to know the specifics:

A. Steam Bundles configured as "Complete The Set" can only be purchased for your own account. Steam Bundles configured as "Must Purchase Together" may be purchased as a gift for a friend.

So there you have it. Straight from Valve. It's quite evident that the Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty bundle is a "Must Purchase Together" type of bundle so it is functioning correctly and this thread is redundant.
