The one you chose is the reflection of the Street Kid lifepath, who is always chasing after the dream of becoming a legend no matter the cost, just like Jackie. It is why Misty brings you to the rooftop prior to making the decision that changes V's life, as that is where Jackie decided his dream in Night City is to become a legend... and that is what this ending reflects.
By choosing Panam V's heart is that of a Nomad who forsakes the dream and instead cherishes family. And by choosing Hanako your V's heart is that of a Corpo who cares for nothing but self-preservation at any cost, even if it means betraying those around you but more importantly yourself.
All 3 epilogues reflect the lifepaths, which is why most people love the Nomad one since a Nomad heart is all about family and friends. But fret not, there is a sequel coming and there is a big chance that it will be continuing V's story since it is cleverly hinting it, so all hope is not lost.
Hopefully that eases the mind :D
I went through 80 hours of ♥♥♥♥ to 100% every single quest in the entire game only to have V just drop everyone and run away to a space casino.
Also FYI, V never died in space, he/she just went there on a mission.
CDPR is a Polish company.
Saying its communist is more than just slightly insulting.
You want to see actual commie subversion, go watch some Hollywood Movies, plenty there to see.
You know - I think that might have something to do with V's chrome and cyberpsychosis ... It's confirmed that Johnny Silverhand was a high-functioning cyberpsycho (showing some of the signs, like poor impulse-control, his cyberhand sometimes acting "on its own", stuff like that). There's a theory out there that the reason why V in the game doesn't succumb to cyberpsychosis, even if you stuff them full of cyberware, is because Johnny, who's experienced dealing with cyberpsychosis, is basically keeping V's in check (and also, V's probably more mentally stable than Johnny ever was, which is a factor, too).
So, at the end, Johnny's gone. And V's still got all of their chrome. So it might be possible that, since the "controlling instance" isn't there anymore, V's cyberpsychosis is finally starting to show, through, e.g., them being cold and distant to all their friends. Of course that's just one possible explanation ...
Where is it confirmed that Johnny Silverhand was a high-functioning cyberpsycho??
Never heard or saw anything like that so how about a Source or a link to that info.
I have over 1000 hours in the game and never saw anything about that.
I don't think you die in space. It was a special mission given to you by Mr. Blue Eyes. A heist of the Crystal Palace; although known to the 'commoners' of Night City as just a nice vacation place, if you read into the lore, it's actually more than that. Think of it as a city for corpos running shady projects. The ending leaves you the impression that Mr. Blue Eyes is offering you something you can't refuse - maybe the cure to help you live? We'll never know unless the devs decide to bring that story to life in a DLC or sequel.
