Cyberpunk HD Reworked Project Mod Released
It's here, HalkHogan has finally released his HD texture mod for this game. No additional modding tools required, just copy and paste the files to your game directory.
Ultra quality should use ~800MB more VRAM, Balanced quality hitting for ~400MB.

Installed the ultra pack and so far so good..game looks great.

400 or 800 megs on top of what? How much does the game normally use for Vram? Just a general amount if possible . I play 1440p med tex and high detail. No screen Space cause it looks terrible. Running a 5700xt 8 ram and 3800x 32 ram. Thank you.

it should be fine as long as you keep it on medium textures, the mod offers a nice quality boost. you might as well have it.

You'll be fine using either version then, even if you wanted to bump up to high textures.
I can say that I like the mod. I've now set everything to medium or low - Screen Space Reflections now turned off.

Plus all of the reshade stuff that I'm now using:
- Color correction
- Lut
- SMAA
- DLAA
- Radiant GI (rt lighting), that I fine tuned to maintain as much performance as I could.
- Bessel Bloom, that I fine tuned to my preferences
- Deband
- Reflective Bumpmapping (refelctions and fesnel)

FPS stays roughly at the 50 to 60 range on a RTX 3060 laptop.

The tracing won't be as good as the native stuff, but at least it'll give me a little of both performance and visuals. The HD mod pretty much handles the rest.
Why does this game not have Steam Workshop support? Seems like an odd oversight with all the excellent mods for the game.

Does Reshade hinder or help preformance?
It helps me a lot.

As an example:
- RT light medium - RT Shadows on - RT reflections on - most settings at medium or low. I'd be lucky to hit 40 fps.
- Now with all that I listed and reshade handling the ray tracing and a few other things. I'm getting 50 to 60 fps.

edit:
All of this depends on how you set the reshade ray tracing though. It can be just as demanding as the native tracing, if you set it too high.

This mod doesn't require anything like redscript or such, it's just extract mod from archive and then copy and paste the file into the games mods folder.

Even with 12 GB graphics cards it gets tight.
4k is probably beyond the scope.
But with DLSS Frame Generation Off you can save one or the other MB.

Even with graphics cards without frame generation support, it will probably be tight.

The HD mod got an update. Just a heads up; I'm re-downloading it now.
Thank you for all the answers guys! Going to try out the update as well. I will say this, right now AMD is not getting the love Nvidia is with my favourite games.

I like the idea of this mod, but I have to ask - in the comparison images, surely the ground textures weren't as bad as the vanilla images you posted??? I don't remember them being that poor on ultra texture settings... like this one:

I do not remember the textures being that bad in game (keep in mind I last played the game over 2 years ago when it was first released on my new RTX 3080, and haven't touched it since.

However, don't let that comment deter you from keeping up the great work you're doing. I can tell some of the textures definitely needed updating. Some of the compression artefacts and pixellation were disgusting.

That said, apparently the comparison images posted on the mods site are zoomed in to show detail enhancements between the default textures and upgraded ones.

FWIW, I never thought the default textures looked all that bad either, and it's a pretty subtle mod mostly only noticeable while not moving and trying to spot some sort of difference IMO, but I do like the crisper graffiti though.

I know that... I did spend almost 100 hours in the game, but whether the images are zoomed in or not, I still don't remember maybe specifically that image I posted every looking that bad. The enhancements are actually quite astonishing as it seems they aren't just merely AI upsampled (like GTA Trilogy did); they seem to be traditionally painted and textured.

Ah, my bad, read like you were thanking me or someone else in thread for making it. Sorry.

According to comments on his page for it on nexus, this isn't just a simple upscaling or AI upscaled mod and Haulk did take the time to manually detail the textures himself. Very impressive work really.
