Load Screen Flicker. What is the Issue?

I have exactly the same issue.

Everytime I load an save, the game flickers 2-3 times black for 1 second. Same as on the video.

I cannot find anything that could cause this, or neither how to fix it.

Is my GPU not working properly? My 4090? Something wrong with it?

Ingame I do not see a lot of flicker, only sometimes in some areas it can happen, but it is nothing that is frequent. Mostly I have no flicker. Dlss 2.0 and Frame Generation on.

Anyone else has this issue, or can say what that comes from?

Did not find anyone on google with exactly the same issue...


DIsabled Gsync/Vsync. Disabled Dlss 2.0 and Frame Generation. Still the flickering on load screen.

What is the issue here?

Mine also does this in loading screens, ROG 4090, Drivers are currently a mess for it

Just opted for a refund, the game is still buggy, I cant Change my Appearance in the Apartment, it brings up a new Screen with zero options and no way to go back

For those of us that have just spent $4,000 AUD On a 4090 everything is a concern....I had black Square Artifacts when typing this very message

Black Squares on Steam for a split second when hitting post, flicker on loading screens for Cyberpunk, MSFS 2020 does similar if DLSS is on

The loading screen flicker I get even with a 3080TI, so it's not exclusive to RTX 40 GPUs, but I never paid attention to it as the game runs flawlessly for me.

As for the Steam black artifacts, I only had that happen once to me months ago where for some reason the Discussion forum displayed it across itself in a split second. It was either Win 11, Nvidia or Steam, but haven't had it since and it only happened once.

So your GPU is alright, if anything I'd report the black stuff to Nvidia to look into it.

Hmm were yours little black sqaures going across the screen for a split second ?

Looks identical to artifacting squares but it was literally a second long and went away during a comment that was being added

They weren't moving, it was like an instant splash of artifacts that happened in a split second when I tried returning to the General Discussion tab, so it happened while the page was loading and that was the only time I ever saw that happen.

Steam was running quite terribly at the time as it was incredibly sluggish and unresponsive. Pages would also take ages to open and most Community features wouldn't even work. It was reported by many on their general forum.

And I only ever had it happen on Steam, never in any other apps. Could perhaps be a wonky driver for RTX 40 if you're still having it here and in other places, but at least the Cyberpunk one I can confirm not to be an issue with your GPU.

Thanks for the reply, it's only ever happened to me once as well which was earlier, Exactly how you had it, a quick splash of squares during a transition, I agree with the other issue definitely being Cyberpunk Specific, in a unrelated way the Nvidia drivers are in Shambles atm, the last 2 in a row have brought significant issues

I have a hunch that it's a visual feature in the loading screen.

If you go through the comments in the link above, it also occurs on AMD GPU's.
The video creator also seems to have an AMD GPU.

Same here on the Loading Screen with my 4070. Can Flicker Black or White sometimes. It seems pretty common and should be a Bug.

As for the Steam Black Square Steam Client. I also have this sometimes. Had this on my old PC also seems like a Bug.
