how i would classify detroit is a new spin and age in the genre of adventure games. you also take on many roles each one correlating to the larger story arc. it is a very interesting way of story telling.
i felt the expressions and emotional responses was pretty good but it has been a while since i played detroit so a good comparision is not fresh.
To be honest I have actually seen better motion capture then both of these in Life is Strange; True Colors. It`s the small subtle movements and body language reacting to the conversation tone that makes it extra realistic there, Plus they got good voice actors as well, especially main character.

Well, yes they are different games - but the character animations are similar, which is what I was comparing. If you do decide to boot up Detroit I'd be interested in hearing what you think of comparing, like, Alice's (from Detroit) expressions with Judy's (from Cyberpunk).
I've tried to play Life is Strange so many times and I always end up losing interest in the same place. I don't recall being wowed by the animations in the 1st one, but the video you linked is definitely an improvement on what I remember. I still prefer Cyberpunk's style, but your video is still much better than Detroit.
First one was released 7 years ago and remaster didn`t improve it much, kinda made it even worse and I still prefer original.
True Colors was released last year and you can see the difference in tech.
I too played Detroit, even twice, and never felt the connection to the characters as i feel it in CP2077. Not even close
Ah, so what I read was true! This is precisely what I meant.
That's so sad, because I feel like Detroit is set up so that you will feel that connection, but it just doesn't spark. I want to finish it because I want to see the story endings, but I kind of wish CD Project Red had developed it instead lol

Ragnarok, Horizon, Death Stranding, Ghost Of Tsushima, Last of Us, Spiderman, etc.... Thats the mountain top.
What makes Cyberpunk special is the detail of the open world, I wouldnt even try to compair facial animations to other games...thats not thier thing.
