V started smoking?????

My V started smoking after picking up Evelyn even though I picked all the no smoking options up to this point. Is this a bug? Whats going on? Why is V smoking?

I mean that at the end of the quest disasterpiece and the beginning of the quest double life my V started smoking even though I had picked all of the non smoking options. This didn't happen in my last play-through, in the last one my V just looked a the cig case that Judy gives you.

You are becoming more like Johnny and the smoking reflects that, Helman explains it. It's not a bug but it's to do with the order you do the main quests and therefore the order the "Tapeworm" quests trigger (the quests where Johnny turns up and you argue or talk about Mikoshi etc.).

So no matter what I pick I end up a smoker? If so that sucks. CDPR why even give me the option to not smoke if your going to make me do it anyway?

Haree is right. If you do the quest to find Hellman before you find Evelyn, then V will always smoke outside of Judy's apartment before you go in. Only if you find Evelyn first, you have the option to not smoke.

No different scene. I listed when in the quests in the quote you are responding to.

Its because V is being consumed by the biochip and turning into Johnny, who smokes.
Its a pretty obvious piece of visual storytelling, im surprised people missed it.
