Does everyone use Vortex for their mods?
Once I am done with my male V playthrough (second playthrough) I am going to use some mods. Now I do have Vortex but Im curious how many use it or if they download mods manually? If the latter, how do you do that?

Manual download from nexus for me. Typically you just need to unzip the mod archives in the right place. It's not rocket surgery.

I always get worried im going to mess something up doing it manually. Haven't checked but is there a mod folder for Cyberpunk that the mods go into?

There are actually two ... one for archive-based mods and one for things like CET with the binaries. There are _some_ mods that go to places outside those, but the majority go to one of the mods folders. And most mods are packaged in such a way that you just extract the zip in the main Cyberpunk 2077 folder, and everything will fall into place.

Of course, you should always check the installation instructions of the mod. Some may behave differently. But you need to do that, anyway, because you want to make sure the mods work for the current version of the game, etc.
I mean, maybe I've just been lucky with the ~15 mods or so that I tend to use, CET, AMM, Minimal HUD, Respector, couple of mesh/model changes/swaps ... but those have been manageable, if you're confident with moving files around on your computer.

You could always make a backup first, although with Steam, you can always just wipe your Cyberpunk 2077 folder and reinstall from scratch. (I usually make backups, even just to have the old versions around, in case a new version turns out bad :P)

I personally use Voertex even if it's typically not recommended by mod authors ... but it makes keeping up on updates really convenient and once they get the "Redmod conversion" tool working properly I think most of the issues will be resolved.

Yep, manual install for Cyberpunk is the way to go. Leave the Mod managers for other titles where load order and mod optimisation is more of a requirement.
Cyberpunk is very forgiving and allows for mod additions and removals mid play through with no real issues, load order is less a requirement here as well.

Im gonna be honest with you, I have no Idea what CET and AMM mean. I havent used too many mods. Only ever used some with Fallout 4, but couldn't figure out how to have just the body work on my character and not every single one in the game.

I normally do read the modders description before installing.
well some peoples do but a lot of peoples reccomend for cp2077 do all by hand and me too

Manual is nice and easy....until there's an update for the game. I recommend Vortex because it makes it easy to update all of your mods, which will be required anytime there's an update for Cyberpunk. Updating large quantities of mods manually is a PITA IMO.

Yes, vortex is the way!!

No I never use mod managers unless there is no other way. I prefer having physical copies so I know where things are going or in case mods get removed. I like knowing I will always have it to use without having to worry. If it might ever get deleted or removed.
Manual is fairly easy just open game folder then open Archive folder then PC folder then create a mod folder then most if not all mods just go in there not really alot of work.

manual installation, its just as easy to use as a mod manager and very straight forward, at least for this game.

i understand the use of a mod manager if you're unsure of where stuff is located, i guess it takes practice.

Personally I've always had issues with Vortex. I find it best to just manually load mods.
