Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime Series
Think was done well would recommend to any fan of the game. Even some stuff thrown in there which only people playing the game would notice.

I hope there is some kind of link between the anime series and the game. Right now the connection is quite minimal.

Didn't seem like much, the general layout was there. Like the architecture was all the same. The music and sound effects as well. Don't think any connection, considering Wakako was briefly in it. Who looked and sounded exactly the same in the game. So seeing no mention of Johnny or the samurai makes it clear there is no direct connection. Since all in the same time frame. Also don't recall hearing about another planet in the game. Or anyone mentioning to V in the game about someone who took out an army of Militech soldiers. Which would have got just as much attention from what johnny did. So any direct connection seems pretty thin.

David never consciously lost that about himself. While also changing others around him to feel the same like Becca and Lucy. Giving them more value in there humanity. That became clear when Becca seemed like a complete reckless, bloodthirsty nut job. Yet she actually opened up to David at some point. Showing me a side of her I never expected. It was stupid for David to keep pushing himself to the limit. Regardless really was no better way for him to go out. Given he wiped out nearly an entire army single handed. If he survived then only would have been a matter of time. Until he would hurt or kill Lucy going in and out of Cyber psychosis and experiencing those hallucinations.
In a sense he went the distance, and also got himself hot woman. Who at the end he was able to protect. Seeing that Arasaka never knew about her. Until final episode so she obviously has a target on her back now. Sending her to another planet was only way to keep her safe while coincidentally being her dream.
Honestly not even sure what the geography is in the Cyberpunk universe. Like only being Night City and the out skirts of it. Since Lucy clearly hated Night City because of Arasaka. Yet seemed like she had no where else to go accept to another planet.
Also the Smasher was nothing but a ♥♥♥♥♥ in my eyes. It's like having a duel in wild west with one person having a rocket launcher.
The Smasher traded all his humanity for power. He was a fool, even with all that power. He would never feel the true warmth and pleasure of a woman. Even the desire itself was likely completely gone. Nothing is more important then that, anyone man that disagrees is a fool in my opinion. Having all the money and power in the world is mealiness.
It's like playing God Mode in a single player game for the first time. It's awesome until later you realize you feel very unfulfilled. Having challenges in our life is what can motivate us the most in life. Which can give us extreme gratification if challenges are meant with success.

We'll simply have to agree to disagree, David (and V if we are being honest) are nothing special and both die meaningless pointless deaths caused by thier own stupidity. ... Even when he dies at V's hand, Smasher was an actual pro, just like Blackhand.

But none of that addresses the silly and out of place mech suite.
Smasher wasn't a pro so much that he had a million dollar mech suit to protect him.
He's just more experienced then all of them, But he took a missile to the face before he became that suit.

Yeah i'm glad they did that, got me thinking more on missing game aspects. Like cyber psychosis for instance. Seeing the player appears be at a chrome level equal to a cyber psycho. Defeating tons of them, how could the player completely resist Cyber psychosis. Maybe Devs were to preoccupied with Johnny causing killing the player. Or perhaps Johnny helped hold the cyber psychosis at bay. Haven't finished game yet so not sure any of that progresses. Never gave it much thought until watching that show. Seems like should be similar moments in the game. Blacking out and waking up with dead people all around you. Losing control a few times though out the game. Due to all the excessive cyber-ware the playing is using.

The player can completely resist cyber psychosis because their brain is already being overwritten by a computer.

Joke or not, it shows that even with with the silly DragonBall Anime mech thing (and that was extremely stupid and out of place), that David and crew were just amateurs who were in over thier heads, much like V and Jackie during the heist.

Actually, Adam Smasher had a satisfying fling with Saburo Arasaka's granddaughter.

Are both explained in game? The Adam Smasher thing I mentioned was more related to his appearance in the show. In the game it looks more like he is in body suit but in the show looks more like he is the body suit. So was more referring to that.

yeah that's more around the lines where I was getting at. Not denying he doesn't have skills or is a pro. But the body armor definitely gave him a huge advantage. So wasn't like he was the most badass of them all he just had the most badass tech armor. If was the best at what he does he wouldn't of needed that.

Something to remember is that "sex" doesn't require physical contact in Cyberpunk, so even if he's just a biopod in a cyber suit (and scanning him pretty much confirms this saying he is only 4% organic) he can still have simulated sex ... or even have an attachment for a Mr Stud.

Smasher is stated to be second only to Blackhand even prior to going 'full borg' as I recall, the fact that going borg didn't push Smasher over the too being part of the reason Smasher hated him so.

Yeah i Know he could just do that virtual thing. Though in show if he was all machine then that desire itself. Probably wan't there at all. So I don't think it would have mattered. As I mentioned he seems different in the game then he did the show. Think at one point David even asked if he was all machine with just a brain. The Smasher didn't really seem to disagree or deny that he wasn't. So only was referring to the smasher on the show.

I don't think there is an actual difference between the anime and the game in regards to Smasher, as a "brain in a jar" that can be transfered to robotic body to body does exist in the setting and is used by the corps in both heavy industrial and military usages. ... Also since sexual desire starts in the brain I don't see why that would by necessarily diminish unless it was a symptom of his cyberpsychosis.

Sexual desire is transferred to the brain still need libido = biological, psychological, and social factors. Which controls sexual thoughts and desires. Essentially you would need several organic part in your body. That transfer stimulation to your brain.
Your thinking everything in Cyberpunk can be controlled through the brain. Which can be true to some degree. Yet it still isn't the same unless it's real, which is why they have adult mags, dolls, and ♥♥♥♥ tools. It's the unpredictability when it's real that truly makes it pleasing and exciting. So yeah Smasher probably could use another virtual avatar to bang a girl. Just would't be he same though.

Not only do you get this sweet badass chrome. You will also eventually violently lose your mind the more you use it. Sounds like a win win if ask me.

No, I agree that virtual sex wouldn't be "the same" as physical sex, and I think the game does a decent job of portraying that with the story of the drunk guy who tried to pay the Mox triple, the Ripper who refuses to get any implants, ect.

Where we disagree is simply that I believe Smasher's comment to Evelyn is evidence of sexual desire (probably sadism variety) and that the anime version of Smasher and the game version are the same in that regard.
