I get the same error everytime "Cyberpunk 2077 encountered an error caused by a corrupted or missing scripts file and will now be forced to close.".
Verifying the files doesn't seem to help either. I also tried a full reinstall as you did, no good.
Not sure what to do about it tbh.
A full reinstall may not remove all traces of mods - depending on how you do the reinstall.
Otherwise If you have been using mods make sure you have removed all of the relevant folders & files, don't rely on a Mod manger to do that ( if you are using one).
Instead follow the structure of each mod and remove the corresponding file from the game. Then verify the files on Steam - this should take the game back to "stock" and there should be no reason why the game should not boot - in theory
Good luck...
I've never had this issue with CP 2077 but have with many other games. Hunting down all the locations where mods had their bits is the only solution.
I have removed ALL mods, done a CLEAN install per the instructions and nadda, uninstall and reinstall as much as you like REDLauncher is BROKEN with Steam. Constantly tells you to verify, have done this a dozen times before and after reinstall, still throws the error.
REDLauncher seems broken right now as the game runs absolutely fine via the executable.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us.
We are aware of this issue and looking into it.
As a workaround you can try to start the game with manually set --launcher-skip parameter:
1. In the library, right-click on the game, select "Properties"
2. Click "Set Launch Options ..."
3. Add the "--launcher-skip" parameter and click "OK".
5. Start the game and see if it helps.
I apologize for the inconvenience it may have caused.
Regards,
AppleJack
