Maybe he knows something we don't.
Nvidia are releasing more updates for dlss 3.0 games by the end of October:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/news/dlss3-supports-over-35-games-apps/
No DLSS 3 isn't added to many games yet you are gonna be stuck on DLSS 1 or 2 depending on the game, cyberpunk uses DLSS 2, so right now your 4090 won't perform much better then a 3090 does when you have RT on until that is fixed
whats interesting is some games or benchmarks don't even need DLSS with RT on, I just found out that Chernobylite, Far Cry 6, 3dmark Raytrace tests for example I can stay around 60 at 1080p on my 3070 with RT on and DLSS off, but games like cyberpunk or metro exodus I can't
Have you actually looked at the videos on YouTube where they did some deep analysis into the DLSS3 and how it works? Visually there are some issues but they mostly appear on the screen for a few milliseconds and you cant actually tell without slowing the videos down.
Latency was impacted but not by a whole lot.
I wouldn't agree for most cases, I want to run CP2077 at 120fps to match my Oled at max graphics and higher fps with higher latency will still be better than running 60-90fps with low latency for this game. It doesn't look garbage as the FPS is too low for it to be noticeable and it's not like the native 4k in CP without DLSS doesn't have graphical issues, glitches/flickering etc.
Quite a lot of people now have monitors with 120+hz refresh rate and 1440p is starting to be the norm.
For example i have 1440p 165hz monitor and some games on Ultra with RT (like cyberpunk) run at around 90fps on rtx4090. I would honestly love to run DLSS3 as it more or less doubles the frames and get closer to stable 165fps.
The argument of input latency also falls flat when if you're used to latency of say 60fps, and that similar latency is available while getting the fluidity of 120+ fps, who's going to say NO?
Yes it has its quirks, like a vsync issue if you have a low refresh rate display causing increased input lag, but if you stay under it, all instances I've played with DLSS 3 (using DLDSR to saturate the performance) has been magical.
It's only going to improve, and right now, looking at games like Plague Tale at 115fps instead of 45... yeah, I'll take the fake frames all day.
Yeah, it's kind of annoying. I know I'm not the only one who got a 4090 based on the Nvidia hype machine ... and now, nothing. Yes the 4090 is still a glorious beast, but one of (if not the main) selling point was DLSS and now just radio silence.
Spider-Man is the only game (that I own) that has this feature so far.
