Why would they enable it on 20 and 30 series cards? DLSS 3 is a selling point for the 40 series.

because many players just bought a 30 series card since the price is back to normal on them (me included)

each generation seems to get price jacked right when they release so players have to buy previous gen when a new one releases ;/ this seems the new normal

From what ive read and watched, it really does not do much if anything for performance on the 30 series and below cards, (I wish it did I have a 3080 Ti), I think its an Hardware encoding issues on the new RT cores, its just built for 40 series sand that is pretty much that I'm afraid.

dlss 3 can be enabled on 2-3k series cards via software unlock, has alrdy been done, seemed a bit unstable on 2k series card, idk about 3k, obviously since not officially supported at this time.
but fingers crossed cause thats all the proof needed to see it's possible

Since DLSS 3 was designed to use hardware that is only in the 4000 series and isn't stable on lower models, it's hard to see how players can seriously expect it to be released for the 2000 and 3000 series. It's not magic, either the card has the chips or it doesn't.

It's obvious that it's built for the 40 Series Cards. I'm just curious about seeing how other cards, other than the 40 Series, handle the DLSS 3 feature. Think of it as exploring all the different paths, dialogues and endings for CP2077. Haven't really seen anyone have any expectations of it running just as well on anything but the 40 Series. I'm guessing maybe it just irritates you a bit, that the feature isn't as exclusive as you'd like it to be?

I dont have a 4000 card. It just seems pretty bizarre to make demands to run software that has been designed for a specific type of hardware, without having that hardware. I mean, why? It won't run properly because the hardware it depends on is physically not present in the player's machine.

None.. and I'm tempted to just do what others are and change a config file to enable it since my 4090 is supported anyway

Can you point me to this config file to enable it?

Same here, was expecting the DLSS 3 update to be released already... but no luck.
NVIDIA did release their latest update to support it though (522.25), I've only been able to use DLSS Frame Generation on A Plage Tale: Requiem so far. Couldn't see that option on Flight Simulator, Hitman 3 nor Spiderman Remastered. They're probably still tweaking it.

Shortly after making my post I dove into the process... the config was never released by the exploiter.. and people are calling BS on him

i thought they would ride the hype train of 4090 release and you know, shows how much 4090 has improved using the latest and greatest tech compare to older gen, making headlines etc

afaik It should be up on spider-man? I tried it on A plague tale but also on Bright Memory: Infinite. I think it is very good on both games. Bright memory is a fast pace shooter and I think that while it adds a bit of input latency, it is still very responsive and there does not seems to be much artifacts at all.

I think CP2077 should be great also. I just hope it wont be very long until they release it, I want to start a new game :D

yea you can get it to run on 20 series and 30 series with a edited file but at the same time it won't work well because they don't have the optical flow accelerator like the 40 series does
Just for clarification, the 20 and 30 series both have optical flow accelerators but the 40 series has an upgraded version

I couldn't make sense of that reddit post either. There is a review build with it enabled which went out to journalists etc., you can see it on steamdb if you check, it's not a 'change a config file' thing.

The internal QA branch was updated again today, three times this week now, so they're obviously still working on whatever is to come. Whenever they intend to release it.
