You can chose Panam without the Nomad background, but having that in common with her, and having some Nomad dialog options makes that romance route a really good story fit. For me it also made all of the interaction with the Alcaldos seem more natural. That's the playthrough I'm currently on, and I'm really enjoying it.

It's the most natural in terms of storytelling / roleplay progression. In all my 2,400+ hours where I've done all lifepaths with both male and female V, multiple times.. I think Street Kid is my favourite because of the E3 Trailers, where V comes across like a Street Kid...

However, V could very well have been a Nomad for all we know.. especially in The Diner Trailer, where V is this average guy with dusty clothes. As a Nomad, you start off as a nobody entering the city, everything is unfamiliar to you, but you make connections, become a badass merc and eventually you slowly start to turn into a Street Kid yourself, kinda like Santiago, the former Aldecaldos leader. The city shapes you into a deadly killing machine. Now I know trailers don't mean much, but generally, I just like to base my characters on the trailers because they sell me a vision. Nomad has a very natural feeling of progression to it that is perfect for an RPG and for the player, and every ending fits the Nomad. The Sun and The Star especially. So, yes.. in a way, Nomad is the best overall. It also gives you some extra cool interactions with Meredith Stout.

Just from the background and some dialogue options, it can have a really nice arc. Not sure about 'best' - you have all the key choices open regardless of background as we all know - but it fits together as a more conventional story really well.

Yeah I agree.. "best" might have been too strong a word. But Nomad is definitely one of the better ones. Even though I've played Street Kid most.

Interesting, street is probably my least played, although I think it's the mirror ending to the beginning which is part of that. Corpo fem V is probably my most played for the same reason. Nomad with its mirror is a pretty optimistic ending, for me - I know many don't see it, and I've always felt it had shades of a 'canon' ending to it by playing with some of the ideas of Westerns (stranger rides into town etc.) along the way.

While I do like all three intros honestly Nomad is probably my least favorite. I like the Corpo intro the best

Your nomad starter car, which you can get back later, is a nice little car. I love it.

It's really up to you what you consider the best.
If you finish the game with the Aldecaldos, it certainly gives a nice frame.

Not sure how much it changed recently but before 1.5 if you start as nomad and are going to choose Panam ending then your character done full circle: you come into the Night City abandoning your "family" full of hope and smuggling a corporate thing in there, you leave the NC maybe with some hope, however you have found a "family" and you smuggling another corporate thing out of NC.

Isn't it weird when a nomad main character meets other nomads and acts like he isn't super familiar with their life?

Different clan though. Panam is Aldecaldo. V was Bakker.

Who do you think is in the Aldecaldos Nomad car in the distance, during the Nomad intro? You can see it up close, btw, if you run back down after climbing the tower. It parks behind a rock, out of sight until you connect to the radio station.
