Lore question for the Cyberpunk world, what's up with the Konpeki staff? Why is their skin entire gold? Is it body paint or entirely synthetic skin?

I believe it is synthetic skin, an implant. If you go onto the Konpeki plaza website in game it says one of the preconditions for employment is essentially full body implants.

It might also be a chem-skin. But considering the texture it has, it looks more like some full body cyberplating (not armored, but who knows).

I just wondered if the old setting gave some background on it. Does it do anything, or is it just for bling? It looks creepy as heck. The only mention I found was the wiki saying the receptionist has gold RealSkin, the most expensive of the synthetic skins. I guess it really is just a cosmetic choice by Arasaka then.

In the old setting there were chem-skins, which could come in any color (some could even change its chromatism according to user's emotions), synthetic skins (cheap ones looked like plastic, where RealSkinn, the most expensive, was used as a cover for cybernetic arms and/or legs because it could fool even moderately detailed inspections). Then, there were metalic or polymer covers, even plates, in several colors to protect cybernetic prosthetics or just for looks.

Disregarding what wiki says, my money is on the late for the Konpeki staff: golden plates. Because what's the point on using RealSkinn if you give it away with an unnatural coloration?

It's the same sort of full body borg conversion as Lizzy Wizzy.

From what I understand it's an aesthetic choice on Arasaka's part, but it's also social commentary about selling oneself and compromising one's own identity for the sake of corporate interests.
