rdr2 is incredibly boring and slow

what is your system specs? Both this and Red dead redemption 2 are very demanding if you want max detail

What do you like? 3rd person open world with huge interactivity, characters and good graphics.
Or a 1st person shooter that plays nice and it's fun but not GTA or RDR2 levels of fun?
I've never played RDR2 but saw some gameplay and watched a lot of GTAV gameplay
Check out reviews and game play on YouTube. Rock, Paper, Shotgun is a great site for reviews as well.

The two games don't really compare as they're completely different in terms of what they offer. A better comparison would be something like Cyberpunk or Metro Exodus.

I personally though would pick Cyberpunk any day of the week as I've played so many GTA games since GTA 3 and know what to expect from a Rockstar game.

Cyberpunk on the other hand, I've never had an experience such as Cyberpunk. It is quite unique in what it offers.

You wanna play a western or something sci-fi?

Pretty much the question. Both are good games.

I'd wait for the next sale and get them both at 50% off.

Shouldn't be long 'til the next season sale. They both usually get included.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an absolutely amazing, stunningly beautiful "Wild West" experience, where, in the campaign, you really can essentially live the part of an outlaw. The campaign is also very length as well. It will take you a while to play through everything. RDR2 is very atmospheric and immersive, even being quite slow at times.

Cyberpunk 2077 launched a bit rough, but has improved significantly. It is a lot "gamier" than RDR2 in the sense that you get to make your character and build them however, you want, leaving tons of room for customization, replayability, etc.

That being said, the games are very different. In RDR2, you play as Arthur Morgan, and are basically limited to things that he would do. You are playing a game where you fill the boots of a character that is already written. In CP2077, you have the freedom to make your own character and make impactful narrative decisions that alter the story's trajectory, and can really pretty much be whoever you want your character to be.

If you can only get one right now, it depends on what you'd prefer. If you're someone who really likes history or the past, like the idea of living/playing in the west during the 1800s, and want a slower paced game that really lets you, or even forces you, to savor the experience, you'd probably like RDR2. If you want a faster paced game that has violent and impactful shooting from a first person perspective, driving, more of a focus on itemization and managing your inventory and gear (like a more traditional rpg such as skyrim), and like the idea of being able to make your own character and make decisions that will allow for different narrative branches and replayability, you'd probably prefer CP2077.

RDR2 has a five hour long unskippable tutorial, and tedious gameplay mechanics, it CAN be fun, but it takes at least five hours to even get to the point where you may be able to find that fun.

That's what I've heard and why I haven't picked it up myself yet.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is by far the better campaign. Cyberpunk is improved but still is far from what it was sold as.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is slower paced, but its story and attention to detail are fantastic. Highly recommend it, it does go on sale all the time for 50% of though, so i'd wait for such a sale unless you need a game to play now. :)

If those are the only two choices, Red Dead is the superior game even if I personally don't care for it.

However, I'd give the older Saints Row games a serious look, Saints Row (2) is the best in my opinion, but Saints Row (3) has better gameplay even if the story isn't as good as (2) ... Skip (4) unless you like over the top wacky and don't touch the Reboot with a twenty foot pole held by your worse enemy.

They did a remake of the saints row as well, bit better graphics and some modern touches
