Skippy
So I got this talking gun. It came as purple, but despite it being iconic, I didn't get recipe to upgrade it to legendary. It also has a quest marker on it, but no quest that I could find. And I can't drop it into stash or sell it.
Am I missing something?

You need to kill certain amount of people with it for the quest to become available.

50 for the first stage of quest and then 100 or so for second stage.
And I really hope you picked the puppy loving pacifist. ;-)

Make sure you actually kill them. Dont leave them alive on the ground after a fight... some people had difficulties with it when they didnt doubletap and thought its bugged, but the game by default doesnt kill enemies so you might shoot everyone but none actually end up dead, if they dont blow up into pieces.

I used skippy to double tap everyone after a fight and got the quest done quite quickly. :P

Enjoy the 50 kills.... when it happens dont beat yourself up. Only lazy unskilled players use Skippy as a crutch. There are way better weapons in the game.

I didn't really enjoy it. Skippy is rather weak compared to my other guns. I was using it hoping there would be some interesting quest content...

Skippy starts out being pretty weak, but after he goes to Stone Cold Killer/headshot only mode and gets upgraded to a decent level, it's pretty powerful. A lot of the apparently 'weak' guns in this game just need to be used for a while until you understand their strengths and weaknesses. All part of the exploration of the game...
