70-80% GPU usage only.
Literally all my other games run at 96-99% of gpu usage yet Cyberpunk struggles to hold 80%. Anyone had the same issue and possibly has a fix?
My hardware:
3060ti
r5 3600
16gb of ddr4 ram 3200mhz.

I used to play on 1440p high settings plus RTX low with around 60-70fps but now after redownloading it a few weeks ago it barely reaches 60fps when set to medium quality with RTX off. So annoying...

what's your cpu usage at? if your cpu is maxing out then chances are, its holding the gpu back a bit.

It‘s at ~60%

What i also noticed is that when i launch the game it runs perfectly fine with around 65fps but as soon as i enter a dense are it drops to 48fps and it stays that way even tho i leave that area. It somehow caps to the fps forever that i had during the dense area. Even when i''m in the desert zone.

I have no idea whether my issue which spans the entirety of my games and their performance, but I've found that something on my system is throttling performance and that the only way i can fix it is making sure my system fans and GPU fans are at 100% otherwise my framerate halves, quite literally. I have searched for months and have turned off every single thing that has to do with system throttling in windows 11, bios, MSI boards, Corsair Icue crap, repasted gfx card, temps are fine etc etc etc - im wondering whether my issue could be similar to yours with this game. How are your temps? Is something throttling?

cpu bottleneck

Use the Cyberpunk MT fix.

That's too much.
Your CPU is limiting and so your GPU starts getting bored.

This hasn't been required since before 1.1

CPU bottleneck plain and simple.

A Fix would be either overclocking or replacing your CPU (although a R5 3600 isn't too bad, though). so could be another program using causing this as well.

also close any unnessessry programs running in the background.
Maybe also check which programs are causing CPU load besides CP

1) Install this https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/107?tab=description
2) Turn on SMT Patch
3) Restart the game
4) ???
5) Profit

Gave me about 15 fps, less fps drops and stutters on my 3800xt, mb help you too.

CDPR said they fixed this problem but no, SMT patch is still valid and gives huge performance boost.

Fwiw, I have a 5600x and have what seems to be an issue with RT and DLSS both on @1440p where the CPU seems to bottleneck at <10% usage. Temps are all fine, not a hardware issue, not drivers. Performance a lot down from 1.5 as a result. There's possibly something they've not documented doing in the patch notes behind it but it's got me scratching my head and waiting on CDPR's tech support to get back to me.

valid argument? Engines behave diferently. This one can have a CPU at 10% usage and still having a CPU bottleneck
This is true, A CPU being at %60 isnt the whole picture, one or 2 threads could be hammered by the GPU since it gets work from the CPU through only a few threads at a time.(in dx9 and 11 it was only through 1 thread, in dx12 or vulkan devs can schedule more but its difficult) And you never want your CPU at high usage regardless because it would cause constant stuttering.

MY r7 3700x gets a few threads stressed and tanks performance in some areas as there are so many NPC's or objects on screen causing reductions in GPU usage since the CPU is busy. And the CPU is only hovering around 30-50% usage in that time

OP needs to lower some settings to reduce strain on the CPU and reduce the number of drawcalls being made, simple as.

Cuz in case with CP2077 it works different

Screenshot with SMT patch
Exactly the same GPU Load on both screenshots but FPS higher on the left.
This game can't handle with Zen CPUs proper way by some reason.
