Why is there no flashlight in this game?
Full of dark places where you can't see anything in general, a damn future in which there are no night vision devices and flashlights -_-

I hear you - especially as cyberware could be there to add night vision to eye implants. The reason behind it from the devs' point of view, according to Pawel Sasko, was that they felt there wouldn't be enough lighting contrasts if the player could illuminate spaces in a city with so much neon etc. at night. I hope they revisit that decision.

Yep, I hear you as well.

To tell the truth, this is the only thing that infuriates me in this game :(

Full of dark places? I can only recall a few and those were dark on purpose.

Would be nice to have a flashlight mod for weapons though, even if you really don't it (there are already things in the game that have a fairly specific use case and otherwise no use).

I think you have some kinda problem with your monitor setup or just didnt change gamma settings in the game. I never had a need for a flashlight. There was couple pitch black places, but they were done on purpose for quest reasons, to create an atmosphere.

And I have no idea what all these dark places you're talking about? I can only recall maybe two or three places that were real dark, but the scanner highlighted where I needed to go just fine.
OP most likely chilling in the dark corners with all the drug addicts all game long.

Having the correct graphic settings still leaves enough light even in the darkest parts of the game.
Maybe your rl environment needs adjusted?
Also there is a small mod on nexus if your really stuck

It's speculated that the missing legendary Kiroshi was supposed to come with night vision

And yes the game gets too dark in some places for something as basic as a flashlight not to exist, but you have to play with an actual proper calibrated screen to notice, the vast majority of PC players use way too high gamma / luminosity and don't even notice

I found one part of the game where things were too dark to make out my surroundings, and it was by design. The intent was to have me fumble around in the dark until I found the switch. Besides that I never found myself in a situation where I felt I needed additional light. The way I see it, the absence of a flashlight is not an oversight, it's simply an unnecessary mechanic that isn't warranted by the game's design.

kinda late but i like to explore all the buildings got some cool legendary outfits and creepy places that look like dead space in buildings but theres little to no light , id just like to see those places with out turning my gamma on to make it look like my monitors color bleached, but its fine. only reason a flash light would be cool for me

Artificial difficulty for certain missions imo. Certain missions force darkness. Does it make sense? No, especially considering that in 2022 flashlights have already existed for decades, but it's whatever, and the reason why I believe that it's meant for artificial difficulty.

Wakako's mission, which is now significantly easier negating the whole point to no flashlight.

I was a very stupid decision.

That is the biggest lie.

Is it? The only mission that really is dark is the Wakako mission with the Netrunner where you follow the lights he turns on, and that's clearly by design. That's the only time i thought to myself "a flashlight sure would be handy here!".

If you're finding the game too dark in other places than that, then might i suggest you take a look at your brightnesss calibration? It's there in the settings, adjusting it takes but a moment.

The default brightness settings for the game were much too dark for my screen, but after i calibrated it, i have had no problems with the game being "too dark" since.

Calibrate your settings people. Different screens have different white/black ranges, so don't just assume the default settings are the correct ones for your screen. They might not be.
