you can't do NG+ because of the 3 choice paths, disalog choices in missions are a bit different between them it wouldn't make sense

Easily solved by having your levels/abilities/equipment transfer over but not your background. So every time you start NG+ you choose a background, play it out until your appartment and then you have everything from your previous playthrough. Simple.

That's not the only variable, though.
For instance, starting the game with your double-jump could give you access to areas you're not supposed to be able to reach. Getting your eye implant from Vic wouldn't make sense if you already have a better one. There are likely a bunch of unexpected things that could break the story or cause unintended effects, certainly more than we can think of off the tops of our heads.

Some potential problems might be easily fixed, other might require more thought and planning, and others still might involve significant effort (like adding collision and/or changing area layouts to prevent accessing out-of-bounds areas). CDPR have mentioned that they are looking into this but warned that it's more complicated than people would assume and they're not making any promises.

All non-issues. The vast majority of players enjoy NG+ modes for the victory lap, to be overpowered and to have no limitations, stifling that in any way is a fundamental failure of game design. If someone wants to double jump from mission one? let them. Cutscenes about adding worse cybernetics? let them play out just don't replace what you got. It's all very basic stuff that hundreds of games have managed to not only do without issue, but ship with day one without any devs saying "it's hard to do" or any of that nonsense. Hell Dragon's Dogma had new game + from day one and that's literally half a game that had it's development time cut badly due to DmC needing constant fixes from Itsuno and his team (the devs of Devil May Cry) so if they can do it, anyone can.

Yeah. And then we will see hundreds videos of people jumping out of bounds and calling game broken and unfinished.

Unfortunately no NG+, you can do so with PC Mods only at the moment.

Where exactly in these early missions would you be able to go "out of bounds" anyway? they're all heavily directed after all. Besides anyone with even half a brain cell would see someone using double jump at mission 1 or 2 and know they're playing NG+ so any complaints would just be ignored by the majority.

I don't see the point of new game+ in a game like this. You're just going to destroy every mission in the game with an invincible character.

Building your character and hunting for upgrades to gear and cyberware is like all of the substance the game has to offer. Playing the entire game with a maxed out character would not be very fun, IMO.

New game plus IS coming, but it's not out yet. There was a kind of interview on youtube with some people from CDPR where they explained a list of things that will be coming in the future to the game, and this WAS on the list, along-side police arriving in cars when you are wanted, and car chases and melee finishers and other things.

Here's a video that basically explains a bit about what could potentially come out in 1.7, as well as beyond that. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxNKzJ1oZ40

This right here is the design choice that doesn't really make sense to me, they give you all those weapons and items to do what exactly? take photos?

They also encourage you to do all side missions before going to the final one so you are left with little to no content to actually do aside from some gigs which are fairly simple.

Yes I'm in that boat. I did all the side missions before doing the ending. In my mind it made alot of sense and thought the weapons was for new playthrough, but when I fired the game up... :steamsad:
