If you've read any of the horror stories developers have had trying to get the RED engine to work for this game, you'd agree. After this they've begun work using Unreal5, an engine that a majority of the games industry knows how to use for Witcher 4.
While they're obviously gonna take a revenue hit to be able to use the engine for their games, considering one of Cyberpunk 2077's glaring flaws on release was how unstable it was I think it's an investment worth taking. Witcher 3 had issues as well, but expectations on that game were significantly lower than CP2077
Yeah, all of the issues the game has are because of deficiencies of the engine. I wish they had gone to UE 4 with CP 2077 and skipped Redengine entirely, but moving to UE5 for the next CP allow them to make the game that CP 2077 should have been.
Been modding Beth games since Morrowind, never used the "Unofficial Patch" mods until my latest FO4 install (only because another mod had it as a requirement). The games have been fine without them. /shrug

That sounds like a much cooler game. Speaking of loading screens:

Based. This game teases a much better world it fails to show us except in small showcases. Even the intro shows a "random" MaxTac event - but at least MaxTac are supposedly being fixed as another revision from NCPD's initial state of pop-in like Weeping Angels for those who go cyberpsycho before quick loading.
The transition to UE5 is probably the most important consideration here, that is the future of CDPR games and I doubt they will want to get hung up on their now antiquated in house engine. Also, they won't be giving up on the IP completely, at this point I think it is very likely that after the next Witcher, we will get a second Cyberpunk built out in UE5.
I never used that all in one bug fix patch everyone keeps talking about for any bethesda game ever... vanilla game in Fallout 4 and Skyrim played fine for me
Lemmie put it this way: 321 million was spent on this game - 121 million on development and I'm sure that it can be pieced together what was spent on marketing.
I mean hey, if you still want to throw all the blame on the YouTubers despite what I just wrote, then okay, that's up to you. Either way, the blunder was on the executives who were calling the shots.
