Forced System Reset?
Game just caused my entire system to fail, and forced a reset of my computer. Anyone else?

sounds like it is your PC dude, this has never happened to me and i have almost 500 hours could be some of your hardware is dying

Might be due to Overheating or Hard Drive Failure, And same as Alceme, I've played CP2077 for long periods of time and have never had that issue happen to me. But on the Old PC i had before, it did reset on it's own but that was cause the CPU was over heating from long Hr's of Gameplay.

Whatever happens, 99.99% of the time a game crashing your PC is your PCs fault, especially when 2 years after release.

Windows 10, no rgb apps, nothing else running. Never happened before this most recent update.
Could have crashed your graphics driver. If you havn't updated them recently, maybe try that.

All Drivers were updated last week. Its only happened the one time, hasnt happened since. Posted this up to see if this was going to become a recurring problem.

I wouldn't really consider it too much of an issue if it was just a one off. If this occurs again and again, then I would start to investigate. Have you ran reliability monitor to see what windows says the problem was when it crashed?

Monitor the heat of both your GPU and CPU when playing. Both of those can force a reset at high temps.

If your PSU is pushed past its limits by GPU draw that can also force a reset.

This is not how software usually works. While there are titles that might cause GPUs to fail due to unchecked FPS rates (there has been exactly ONE case of that happening) and sometimes the stress of demanding games brings a CPU to it's knees, none of that actually "resets" your PC on it's own.

In most cases like that it's just a thermal issue. Not enough airflow, bad watercooling or broken memory stick...so it's mainly hardware. Run a benchmark tool like Cinebench or 3DMark and push your system to the very limit to find out if there is a problem with cooling. Run a memtest (can take a while) to find out about memory problems and maybe check windows Eventviewer for more infos on what might have caused the issue.

EDIT because I didn't finish this proper :
In any case, when a game manages to restart your PC, check your PC first, the game second. Sometimes a demanding process can show you flaws in your system you wouldn't encounter otherwise and allows you to take action before something seriously breaks down.

Sounds like a CPU heat issue
