any factions you avoid killing?
i'm trying to be a good guy so i only kill memebers of factions that are obviously evil, like Maelstrom, Tyger Claws, Wraiths and Scavengers
gangs that have good sides to them like Valentinos or 6th street, or corpo forces that are just doing everyday guard work i try to avoid killing as much as possible.

anyone else playing like this?
man, this game desprately needs a faction system so there will be some visible feedback/reward for avoiding needless deaths of different gangs

Like you, I don't kill workmen if possible, depending on the story of the GiG or sidemission I generally avoid killing women if they are not Maelstrom/scavs and the story is not too dark ie in the Jotaro mission I chopped everyone to pieces, I always kill corpo soldiers as I consider them "enemy combatants" and part of a way of making the world better even if individually they are just trying to earn money.
Someone mentioned it in a thread on here before, But I noticed awhile back they removed references to rape or sexual assault in the wanted section, Kind of a wimpy thing for cdpr to do honestly..
Nah. If they shoot me, I shoot them, it's that simple. Of course, they usually don't even have time to try shooting me, since they are busy shooting themselves in the head.
There are better ones and there are worse ones, but at the end of the day you have to remember that they are gangs and they don't go punch a clock 9-to-5 to earn a living, they steal and kill and traffick and extort to do it. The only difference is whether they happily wear it on their sleeves like Maelstrom or put up more of a facade like the Valentinos.

I still think this game needs a faction system for that exact reason. It feels like theres no consequences for me literally just going around and icing random gang members all day. Youd think maelstrom would hold more of a grudge considering i literally shot up an entire factory they had under their control, on top of regularly shooting up their members in broad daylight with no provocation whatsoever
I get your point and I do somewhat agree with it, But regarding the maelstrom thing...None of them really liked royce. They all basically followed him out of fear. they're prob glad he's gone.
Im sure they liked themselves though. Ive killed many a maelstrom lol. Or the bigger example i make, all the valentinos ive capped for a quick buck, yet they want to drink w me at jackies funeral, and padre loves me. Or all the tygers ive killed, yet wakano or whatever her name is still gives me plenty of gigs

In most cases I just knock out everyone (there exceptions where I'll kill if they're extra ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people), unless they go alert then I start killing. I generally avoid fighting the cops though because they're basically doing the same job as me, just with more restrictions and getting paid less
The gangs system isnt deep enough to warrant me avoid killing
You can be friendly and chatty with a gang inside a building for the story and once u stepped out and finish the quest, u can go back killing everything in sight.

So until theres a gang rep system, im cleaning house mo matter what. i need that exp and loot to sell

Sounds exactly like the kind of people I'd want watching my back in the world of Cyberpunk

Irl, those people tend to be incompetent and filled with incoherent rage, not exactly the type most would want "watching their back".

In game, if you read the shards 6th street are about as trustworthy as a corpo with an agenda, which is to say, not even a little bit.

So you are saying they have good intentions but bad execution? So they are actually better than the Nomads then based on that logic tbh.
"Corpo guys just on guard duty" Those 'corpo' guys most likely back stab and lie and in some instances even kill to get their jobs. They're not target employees, they are hired killers and ex criminals hired on as muscle. Shoot to kill everyone except maybe the NCPD if you can help it but even then the cops are corrupt as all hell.

Can confirm, When I scanned all the kang tao operatives during the panaam mission most of them came back with multiple homicides or something that would of warrented executing street gonks over.

NCPD is another story. I try not to kill them because unlike corpos, not every one of them is bad and we see multiple examples of it in the game.

Most corpo soldiers/guards were either trained from birth to be like that or were willing to sell their souls in order to become what they became.

NCPD is filled with people who joined because they wanted to help but they're constantly pitted with corrupt people that makes them feel like their efforts are pointless. Rivers is a good example of this, along with multiple ncpd npcs whose's story we can hear while exploring.
I'll pretty much only leave the nomads well alone.

Otherwise, it *really* is hit-or-miss, even with the Valentinos. There's a reason why Jackie left (and you can see flickers of it when interacting with the Valentinos who are about to take the corpo guy visiting El Coyoto Cojo outside).

Scavs, Maelstrom under Royce, Wraiths / Raffen Shiv, all garbage fires. Every single corpo can rot.

NCPD is almost as bad because those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ will randomly aggro you minding your own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ business with no weapons out and no warrant. Then there's drones everywhere and either you book it or you're up to 3-4 warrants and MaxTac's out for your ass. River is practically a squeaky clean cop-aganda "not all cops" insert in comparison who feels distinctly out of place in 2077's Night City.

Tyger Claws... eeehhhh. Considering how many people they routinely ♥♥♥♥ over, I only "avoid" them for Wakako's sake. 6th Street is on the same tier as the Tygers except there's not much keeping me from killing them.

I'm including Delamain in this list because of the GLaDOS deviant Delamain pissing off literally everything in a mile radius from every faction. ♥♥♥♥ you, Delamain. That encounter took me well over five minutes.

I kill them all, all of them are criminal scum, every, last, one of them, I see them I pop them and take their stuff and then I dance around in my underwater on their corpses, then the police come and they start clapping and whistling and throwing money around me so I get even more assets, then I get dressed up, get inside my car and hope to find another criminal scum.

Well nomads are not criminal scum, they're just people, unless they shoot me for no reason in which case...

My netrunner uses non-lethal quick hacks like short circuit and the eye mod so they didn't kill anyone not even smasher just walked away.

My Nomad I'm playing now that is a street brawler will kill anything that gets in their way. Carries a gun just to clean up after a fight.
Factions? This game does not have factions. They are all just random generic no name bandits. Who cares about them?
